I hope they have some nice surprises in store for us. Was actually surprised with that documentary included in the Budapest release. Some new footage I hadn't seen before.

I predict that in 10 years time the Box of Tricks VHS will still be the only officially released product of the Rainbow show.


You did ask for predictions, not hopes and wishes... :P

I would be happy with a merge of the two nights, as long as they do it in such a way that it presents a full show and setlist assembled from the footage from the two nights, not crappily cut down and full of awkward 'medley's and butchering of songs. Both nights would be even better. The March footage as bonus material would be amazing, but I'm not letting my expectations run wild.

Nice thoughts coming out from everybody, but they are just thoughts after all. This topic has done as well as I had expected that.

So, some of your thoughts (rather predictions) might be materialising some time soon this year. All we can do now is just wait and see. But this doesn't mean we should entirely stop the discussion... :-)

Go on! Maybe someone will come up with another bunch of rather interesting thoughts.

I'd like a Blu-Ray release for 2 reasons; firstly because a DVD release will most likely be in crappy NTSC format (ARGH!), meaning that the dimension of the picture will be reduced (try comparing the recent Wembley release with the 2003 PAL DVD to see what I mean), and may also lose the interlaced look that is synonymous with videotape (due to the different frame rates of PAL & NTSC material).

Secondly, I think I am right in saying that the March footage exists and was shot on film. This means it has the potential for full HD.

Well, that's debatable...we are not getting two but four songs (ok, three-and-a-half) from the March-show on video, so that counts as "additional", doesn't it?

Happy: complete show/compilation on DVD/Blu-ray --- check
Very happy: two songs from the March show --- check
Ecstatic: complete March show on CD --- check
Losing his shit: additional March songs on video --- check, even if only two/one-and-a-half more.
