You disagree or is it a joke about sexual preference?

Think you might be onto something Stelios. Fred didn't do much pussing in later years! :-)

The fact that he retreated into some "safer formulas" from The Works onwords dosen't mean he bacame a dull , cliched artist. He just had a space in his creativity when he became less focused in music since he seemed to get his kicks more from real life than art. That window apparently was closed with the disease and then he retrated back to music and art. The thing is , that he was always the first to get bored. He apparently needed to get stimulated and he was always a clever guy. Since he didn't loose his talent i don't see where you get the idea that Mercury ever stoped pushing the envelope. In fact his hole life was about that although determined to do it in his own way. And that envolved even some freeking Delilah's . But then again its all in the "never boring" context that he was all about.

I personally think that he'd be the type to stop touring when he knew he didn't have it in him anymore. Whilst I see him recording definitely, I see him producing and writing a lot! Another question I like to pose is, would he be working in rock? I feel as though he's a genre chameleon so to speak and morphs into the genres he enjoys.

I think Queen would've remained together and continue to evolve. I don't know how they would've evolved - and I really don't feel too inclined to speculate as that's Another World. :-( :-)

Stelios, you were right when you asked if it was a joke about sexual preference. Put bluntly you need pussy to pussing. Get it? ....lol.

Maybe they would have continued. But the main
question to me would concern their succes and
popularity.
Queen had an enormous boost of popularity due
to Freddies death.
I am not sure if they would have been able to achieve the same status if freddie would still be here.

I think pinga and Samantha hit it on the head.
They were creatively chameleons. I wouldn't doubt a distance but then creative output whether in prodigy/protege formula etc or film scores
I'm sure they would have entered the nineties StroNG and in full blast..... considering all the animated films of the time
I wouldn't rule out collaborations.
After growing up in the 90-00's I think Freddie would have been keen to do duets like with Mariah carey etc for animated romance films. They are just too powerfully creative as a unit to have ever let it sleep without the adversity that happened.
They're simply soo gifted.
Roger might be in a group with queens of the stoneage guys like john Paul Jones
It's part of their lives
Big for instance: had WWTLF come out in a film like GHOST or TITANIC it would surely be a timeless anthem
Instead it hit the science fiction action crowd and didn't get the viewer ship it deserves

Martin mentioned that Queen might have morphed into something, how, or what direction, do you guys think Queen would have changed musically had they gone on.

Queen already assured their status at Live Aid, the greatest show on earth, only a few years before Freddie declined. So Queen, if Freddie had lived ,would be the still be the greatest rock band ever and would have gone on and on recording amazing outstanding music that would be by now , part of the legend.
myth is nothing but legends are real.

firstly, they're not the greatest rock band ever
status-wise - that honour belongs to zep
sales and pioneering wise - it's the beatles
some people round here need to be more objective - separate favouritism from the issue and you will see queen are possibly third
as for "would they still be putting otu albums as a band?"
no chance. freddie and john were headed in a funky direction whereas bri and roger were resentful that the rockier edge was quickly being
eroded.
truth? i'd expect bri and roger to be doing what they are now
and freddie and john to being dance collaborations together

I consider them the greatest band ever because they are.
And of course, i am a Queen fan, so naturally i would.
As for John and Freddie suddenly stop making Music with Queen and cause the band to split having in due of their differing musical tastes to that of Brian or Roger caused a unbreachable rift that is rubbish,!
as John and Freddie ALWAYS from the early years had DIFFERENT MUSICAL TASTES to those of Brian and Roger, and it Never Stopped them making ALBUMS infact it is what made them SOOO GREAT AND THE GREATEST EVER!!!!!! AND THAT VARIATION of musical styles and influence is EXACTLY What made Queen so musically effervescent and vitally unique.
FOREVER.
smile.
Oh and album sales means nothing in a world of going with the crowd and eating whats given you at the table like sheep do. maybe they are sick after paying the money , who knows? as for the Beatles i say quality is more important than quantity and as for led zep , american potheads are so easily persuaded, but when the chips fall at the end of the day, quality and regal excellence in the end displays arrogantly for the whole world to see, its own superiority!
lol
