Wait for what? See what? The soundcheck is said to have never existed. Dear me, I don't believe in miracles.[/QUOTE]

As far as I know, the 60-minute version of Rainbow won`t be released - this is a test remastering from VHS version . Will be full remastering from tapes of this concert. Eagle Vision was given the announcement of the coming release, that's all. Technical Data that there is at the moment - but a complete remastering from two shows are no.

That's just too bad you're of the typical "bash the inu" bandwagon.
I just LOVE how my detractors only choose to selectively see the negative in me, never mind my efforts both at the forefront and behind the scenes in the last few years to make honest attempts to improve my standing in the community here...but I won't bother wasting your bandwidth anymore on this matter, since it's neither here or there in the context of this topic :-)

okay, can anyone tell me the difference between SD and HD? are they planning to release the Rainbow gig in some standard mediocre quality?

Apparently, they were referring to TV.

i'm confused, was rainbow shot on video or on film? i remember quite a while ago someone said here on QZ that only rainbow '74, montreal '81 and budapest '86 were shot on film. and we got those two on blu ray so i wonder why they won't release rainbow on blu ray if indeed it is shot on film.

A bit wrong. I guess you were referring to this quote from queenlive.ca, but confused it a bit:

"Brian May has stated that the shows were properly filmed, but this may be due to the fact that the Live At The Rainbow film was stored on 16mm or 35mm film to be shown at cinemas in the 70s. The shows were actually shot on 2" tape. This picture reveals a typical TV camera from the time. The only concerts Queen properly filmed were the two nights in Montreal '81 and Budapest '86."

ok,thanks for clarifying that. i guess there's no blu ray release for rainbow then. but most of us would be more than pleased if we get sd release on dvd.

I'd probably die watching this gig in High Definition.

31.03.1974 - Concert: Queen live in Rainbow Theatre, London, UK. It would be nice to hear this gig full or see.

Can't believe it will not be complete... The've been saying that it'd be complete this time around since they found the footage of the missing songs on the VHS...

Yeah. Wait and see press release on 1st April :-)

what about the press release of 1st April ?? a sort of Fool's day again ???

April 1st was a bank hol, so chances are it was never going to happen then, If it was happening it would have happened today.

Is there any reason why someone expected the press release to be on a specific date?

60 minutes could be an accurate timing because Queen were hardly renowned for playing two hour sets at that stage of their career. How long was the original Rainbow VHS? I used to have it on tape years ago but had to sell off most of my more valuable collectables a few years back :S

Yes, but the concert was, in fact, a bit longer than 60 minutes.
