Have you read Peter Hince's book Greg? In that he mentions the Works tour as being the best and the Magic tour as the worst.
I have a few friends who attended shows as early as '74 and they say exactly the same thing. Suppose you did really have to be there.

so if wanna listen to a show from the Magic Tour--I highly recommend Leiden or Stockholm!
I really like the sound from the Mannheim 1986 show, one of my favourites from the Magic Tour.

It is different being at an actual concert rather than listening to it. I haven't read his book, so I don't know what he wrote about the tours.
That's one of the reasons why I prefer reviewing/writing about a show via recording rather than going off the "concert atmosphere." It's far more objective and when you hear a show via recording, you can hear the entire band performance easier.

the OP has gone into disturbingly intrusive territory. this is way way way beyond the pale, the privacy of ALL non-celebs should be respected - everyone is entitled to a private private life. -even the 1998 Human Rights Act says as much
anyone wanting to know personal information about non-celebs is a stalker of the nosiest order - and a c*nt to match.
Potty mouth will get you no where.

well i'm happy about that. because you're one person i'd rather no get anywhere with....what a horrible excuse you are.
Mary was NOT a celeb, her kids no matter what age - are not celebs yet either - therefore their privacy should be fully respected.
one more thing - living 8,000 miles away does not make stalking impossible. cyber-stalking is a criminal offence also - let's hope you get caught, i'll say it again c*nt

Greg hasn't been to any Queen concerts, but in the eight years he's been a fan he's acquired a ridiculous amount of knowledge on Queen's live career. He knows virtually everything except what it was like to actually be there.
eight years!!!!!! f*cking wow. and when did you become his PR man?
btw - i love the above comment - you've just (in one throwaway little comment) discredited the experiences of those who did see queen live - proper queen - ie 1973-1986....so thanks for belittling my 500% more experience than Greg's

Haha, I love you Brenski. These clowns that list things like The Works as their fave album and songs from the 80's as their favourite songs, make me piss.

...Aaaaaaannd the hate continues. We were doing well for a little bit there.
Hey brENsKi, how exactly am I discrediting your experience? I'm not; I'm saying that if Greg wants to provide commentaries on Queen's shows he can. I'm not his PR agent, I just think he's a good guy so I'm trying to defend him.
horse feathers, what does liking songs from the 80s have anything to do with anything?
And finally, are we ever going to stop hating funkyrake for asking a simple question?

Is this what queenzone has become, 4 pages of bollocks? Can't we have a discussion about Mary singing AKOM in the bath or something?

I love how people argue with each other on a bands forum page XD

This is nothing. If you have a few spare days to kill, go to the Personal forum and check out the Atheism thread. That's the major leagues of endless bollocks. Horse feathers and I couldn't possibly compete.

Any news of what has become of them, i.e., occupations, marriages, hobbies such as art? I recall reading that they were privately educated while growing up. I would love to know more about them.

Actually I believe it's Jeremy Capone and Borat. They look very alike.

there's no hate toward you - i have nothing against you - you interpret difference of opinion with hate? now that is strange because by saying: He knows virtually everything except what it was like to actually be there. by default you're implying that virtually everything is NOT going to a concert therefore by consequence actually attending a concert = virtually nothing and i don't hate funkywhatever...but i will stand by what i said - it wasn't a simple question. it's an intrusive request. and the polite, reasoned, correct thing to do when it's pointed out is to say "apols, i see now - it was wrong to ask"

Right. Because the world is bound to the Brenski view of propriety and should apologize the moment you arrive to provide the 411. It was a simple question. A simple question about updated photos of two people that had previously been professionally photographed and splashed all over the public arena by their mother Mary Austin. It's not something that interested me, but it was something that interested somebody else. You want to pull this constantly but won't abide the complaints of other posters who get weary of you costing this forum contributors in the name of enforcing your arbitrary personal moral codes like they're international fucking law.

You're doing a good job communicating important points on this thread waunakonor. You deserve more backup and I'd normally make sure you had it but I seem to be pinging from one QZ fight to another in recent weeks and I'm a bit worn out. :)
