GF contributes lots to the forum. You can only see that though if you judge the value of someone's contribution on more than how many rarities they have.

Holly GTF.
You too are now just stirring it.
This was never about rarities as well you know.
This was always about some small time scrote who wanted his 15 minutes. He got it.
Next please...
A tip for life. Find what you enjoy - do it more often.
Find what you dislike - do it less.
If you really believe I am as shallow as you just made me out to be; you too

You're the one blabbing on about rarities, not me.
I don't need any tips in enjoying life from people as anal as you are about silly little pieces of paper and vinyl.
Stick to what you know John.

Don't mean to sound like brENsKi here, but now you just sound like a cunt.
Are you honestly saying that you're "saving the world?" Because by the looks of it all you're doing is paying lots of money for stuff and then whining when it ends up not being an investment that benefits you in every way.
Also, some of you people seem to have the notion that you need to go out of your way to do stuff about it in order to hear the rarities. That's just silly.
I would like to hear some of this shit, and I'd probably be willing to pay for it, but there are a couple problems.
1: I really don't have any money, and probably won't have much to burn anytime soon.
2: I'm spending a lot of my time right now working toward what I want to do in the future, which doesn't have much to do with buying music all the time, and working on what I am passionate about. Yet, I'd still like to be able to hear some interesting stuff from my favorite band, and I don't appreciate the notion that I have to specifically work up to it in order get what I would have anyway if anyone had any respect for people. If being a member of the "Fanthology" would involve sucking up to other members, I would prefer spending my time sucking up to people who are really going to change my life.
Finally, way to call GratefulFan "a faceless, nameless avatar, who is all too happy to snipe in the dark..." even though that perfectly describes you, other than the fact that you have a name.

First of all I agree that this thread has descended into a muck-fight far too fast and far too deep.
That is just as much my fault as anyone else.
But I am fed up with the constant whining and belittling barbs being thrown at almost every opportunity. (And I don't just mean at me).
This place is a hive of negativity. The second guessing. The accusations, the snide remarks; what is going on here?
I Am a cunt - I know that; but at least my self acknowledgement means that I am aware of my own shortcomings - without having to compensate by up-casting the flaws of others. In the end we all become cannibals when the food runs out...
Holly: "GF contributes lots to the forum."
Good point, well made, why not leave it there?
Why the additional snide: "You can only see that though if you judge the value of someone's contribution on more than how many rarities they have... I have more rarities now... Good for you ... " Totally out of context from what I meant (I meant I feel liberated from the shackles of Fuller's shadow); and making me sound as hollow Kevin Bacon's character of the same name?
I do take that as a needless personal insult to be thought of as that shallow... especially from someone who should know better.
Waunakonor: Of course I am not saving the world. I guess my carbon footprint as big as yours (or vice versa) etc, but my point is we are all humans with weaknesses and foibles and that "people in glass houses should not throw stones", (let him without sin and all that stuff). So if I write for example "Better to be a werewolf on the outside... how belittling and condescending it is to receive "fortune cookie" as a reply.
I am annoyed that Fuller is releasing these rarities; but that's life. The actual copyright music is not mine - but it is not his either - so it's the attitude that I am fair game (or that somehow I deserve it; or that I am some sort of elitist ) or that David is some philanthropic charitable Robin Hood; when in actual fact he is a spiteful and vindictive person.
The point is I do not know of any other way to say this without sounding bitter sweet. So bitter sweet it is then.
Do I feel stupid - yes.
Did I do anything wrong - No.
Would I do the same again - yes;
But that is because I do trust people first.
Am I over it - yes.
Are the rarities important - No - there will always be more; so it's not the physical I lament; it's the bullshit package it came wrapped in. The betrayal of trust, the backstabbing for monetary gain, it's all the false niceties; just fake plastic crap - and that is just not me - nor can I be done with it.
Grateful Fan: You want to save someone from a lynch mob (itself a worthy cause) then get all the facts first. If I feel uncomfortable sharing those facts - do not poke about. It is not your business. It is between me and Fuller. He has a mouth; he can defend himself. Maybe you have latched on to his cause because of his absence - but have you ever thought that absence may be out of guilt? Have you ever thought you were being played? Have you ever thought how unjust it feels to be "the victim" and get either get off your cross, ha, ha, ha, as your standard reply?
Maybe I don't want to talk about it. Maybe you should respect my right to privacy and to keep things to me. Maybe I do not want to air my dirty laundry in public - especially by you (or anyone else). Those who jumped on the Fuller bandwagon did not do so because of me. Most were witnesses who were there, at the time, and experienced it first hand. That is a big difference from the rabid mob you present.
As for my removing mails - I said some vitriolic stuff back then - some of that was against you - which I thought better of on reflection; so I took it down. That is not a sign of weakness - it's a sign of "OK I went too far there, so I will retract what I say", but hey, that's what we cunts do.
As to everyone else? I uploaded the above link and what do I find? Plays:319 Vs. discussion less than 20 posts. That means if everyone downloaded x3 = c100 freeloaders who did not even acknowledge a thank you... my point is that it says more the average Qz'er than it does me.
Queenzone is full of leeches and moaners - I can accept that - but I do not need to like it.
It does have some really good people in here, but it also takes out the worst in people also.

John, you're becoming delusional now. Why the blazes do you think I would download a track that is (as we know now) an admitted fake? I listened to it, as did probably just about everyone else, decided I am not in the same league as you are where Queen-rarities are concerned, and declined to give my uneducated and therefore useless guess. If that makes me a leecher and a moaner, fine. I came here to "leech" Queen-news from people more knowledgeable than I am, not someones rarities. Please have the site administrator open you a dedicated "Rarities-War" thread and leave the rest of us to leech and moan in peace. While I certainly acknowledge your immense contribution to this forum, right now I'm starting to feel like an uncomfortable witness to a domestic dispute that is none of my business. Have you stopped to think that the resentment you feel towards us leechers and moaners might be mutual when it comes to flooding the forum with private wars?

I don't know fully the extent of what has been going down here (until just the other day, I had NO idea was Fanthology was), but I've picked up the gist. Now, tbh, I've NEVER trusted Fuller. Why? Because he nonchalantly shared stuff that others would maybe have had to brokered for - not just among the Queen community here on QZ - but in a viral sense on YouTube. A lot of people here have bought into the notion that he is the "digital boxset" and have been grateful for some of the rarities he's posted on YT and here on QZ. However, a lot of it was, to be fair, widely circulated: the odd "real" rarity he offered was just a lure to make people think he had more than he actually had. He was building up a reputation as a big-hitter, with connections to the best of the best. He was then making out that he was a sharing type of guy. "Robin Hood" is an apt term. In reality, it seems, he's blagged his way into a circle of real big-hitters, and reaped the rewards. Now, I know John, and respect him. I have spoken with him many times, and know that he has some real beauties in his rarity collection. How he came to have them or how much money changed hands in getting them has nothing to do with me, QZ or anyone else - that's his business. Technically speaking, John shouldn't really have the majority of the files/tapes or whatever he has, either (it was not up to his original sources to be passing off the material in the first place) - but, at the end of the day, we shouldn't have the stuff we have. No matter how it was obtained. But we're happy when it arrives - for free, and without really giving anything back. And some of us think we have a RIGHT to the stuff. Truth is, nobody, except QPL, has - regardless of whether it will be officially released or not. Anyway, getting back to topic: regardless of the morality issue, the fanthology members were trading amongst themselves, which is up to them, and nobody should feel pissed off at that. However, it seemed more than apparent that, if there should ever have been an issue of trust within the group, then Fuller would be at the heart of it. He was always going to be the guy who ran off with the stash. A foolish move letting him be involved, AFAIC. John (with all the respect in the world to him) has been nipped, and there should be a lesson learned from that. But, at the end of the day, I can see what's pissing him off: it's not the loss of the rarities to someone else - it's the manner in which Fuller ended up with the loot in the first place (gratis) and what he's doing with it now (profiteering).
Thistle · Member since
May I also add that, whilst JSS may be happy to pay or trade with someone else for a rarity, he doesn't actually then try and profit from it the way Fuller has. John has shared a lot here, and now it appears he's being turned on for being pissed off at what Fuller is doing. Shocking QZ, absolutely shocking.....

Sorry; I am not the only member of the Fanthology (or even QZ for that matter) who has received hate mail and death threats in their PM's. It's not nice - and you never get used to it. Look at all the Fuss and bother Hangman created. So sorry Knocando. Your individual request is reasonable; but as soon as I say there is a Queen version of "Blow Me!" everyone and his dog wants a piece of it. It's just human nature. I just do not need the hassle.

Fair point; but it takes two to tango; and I cannot let it go as long as I feel my nose is "being rubbed" in it on a daily basis. The thing about bullying is that it is a perception, and I perceive a lot of hostility in this room (not only directed at me btw).

Nope: Never even thought it. If other's want to save the world be my guest; but get off the sofa and do something constructive; do not sit and shout at a PC monitor!
Because by the looks of it all you're doing is paying lots of money for stuff and then whining when it ends up not being an investment that benefits you in every way.
No; not at all; completely false. I am not in it for the investment. I have freely donated to financial Queen transactions without any thought of ownership. I like Queen. If I want to pay £200 for a CD that is my choice. What harm is there in that; but in here it is on a par with the Great Train Robbery - or that's what it feels like.
It feels like I am always the one on the back foot, needing to justify my every move.

There is no sucking up in Fanthology. I am the least of it's members and I am honoured to be part of their company. It really is a distribution of equals. But it is not my club. I am not the leader of the gang as it were... these are people who are proud to love Queen... and to "meet" without hassle; it's not about wealth. Some members are poorer than I, some far wealthier; some provide advice and support... so in that sense it is a true ubiquitous brotherhood. A brotherhood whom David Fuller tried to roll over, but in the end it made us stronger. Certainly no sucking up involved!!

It certainly was not meant as harsh as it sounded. It is take on a very old UK advert
"I wish I didn't keep loosing me birds!" "Learn to swim young man, learn to swim!"
If one is familiar with the advert - it's meant to be funny; but if she is outside UK than I see how that would be a tumble weed moment!

Thanks for the reality check.
right now I'm starting to feel like an uncomfortable witness to a domestic dispute that is none of my business.
That pretty much sums up my whole QZ experience at the moment...
My resentment is focused against Judas Iscariot figures who portray themselves in a Robin Hood mould.
At least being a werewolf on the outside is honest in it's appearance.
Read James mail above. It's all about betrayal, and being bitten by a mad-dog; About how one person can get so much for free - then go and rip off the remainder of his fellow Queen community; and to top it off, the outside world views it as a loveable dog with sad puppy eyes. So yes I do get annoyed when he is defended. I feel like saying there is so much going on behind the scenes - but everyone is an expert.
The leeches I was referring to is nobody gives a damn and will suck up to Fuller until his tits run dry; then he will be discarded like a used condom.
But I agree; I do not want this laundered in public; but for some reason I seem to be living in a groundhog day, as it is others who keep interrupting with stupid assumptions.
