I've always liked this underrated song from the Innuendo album. Now I have two topics I'd like to discuss about it.
1) Does anyone else think that the part 0:40-1:08 is absolutely amazing? I love Freddie's deep voice so much! I really wish he could have sung more songs like this. Of course he used this kind of voice also on some other Innuendo tracks.
2) At 1:48 that's Roger singing right? "Tie your hair back baby".
It's amazing how a man in such a bad shape could sing so amazingly as Freddie did on the Innuendo album. Stunning!

I love that song a lot myself. It rocks just as much as Headlong and The Hitman while also being more subtle. It has a very nice layered guitar solo. I didn't fully realize how good that solo bit is until I heard Roger's demo version, which only has the low end part.
1. Yup, Freddie sounds very nice on that first verse. He has some very nice vocal moments all over the album; it seems like he's being more experimental than usual, for obvious reasons.
2. Um, I that's definitely still Freddie there.

Weakest song on the album for me.

Er ,All Gods People and Freddies song about his fat cat are surely the weakest bits on the whole album by far !!!

Including All Gods People and Delilah?

I agree with you.
The track shows a lot of potentials that would be so interesting to be expored in other projects.
Freddie's deep layed back voice and mood, Brian's "distant" and a bit oriental ( at least in my ears) /melancholy sound.
It gives a hint for intriguing directions and variations for the Queen sound post 1991 that unfortunately could never happen.

I disagree with the comments on All Gods People, I love that track. It adds so much to the album, it's totally different to anything else on there, in a good way. Ride The Wild Wind is also one of my favourites on the album, it's a great song. Overall I think it's one of their strongest albums and always a pleasure to listen to. Freddies voice gives me goosebumps every time I listen to certain tracks on Innuendo.

All God's People is a great bit of composition and orchestration. I can definitely understand why people wouldn't want to listen to it often; it's a bit of an earful.
When you come right down to it, it's a bit like Mustafa - a lot going on musically, but definitely not something you'd put in the Easy Listening bucket. It's the same reason I couldn't stand Kate Bush when I was a teenager - a lot of musical content, but a tone of voice that just annoyed the fuck out of me when my sister would listen to it at 9AM in the morning.
(I've since matured - no, really).
As for Ride the Wild Wind - if it wasn't for the outro of The Chain being so bad-ass, it would've made for a great bit of F1 music.

Well put, its actually a great composition, it just isn't pleasurable to listen to

The Hitman - should have been a great sounding Queen rocker but it sounds thin and VERY weak - as though its been recorded through cheap mono headphones..........
All Gods People - I kind-a like this because of its harkening back to Somebody To Love and that soulful swing.
Delilah - funny and typically Freddie; should have NO PLACE on a Queen album though - save that shit for a solo project.
RTWW - great track - very Queen and great vocal work and percussion. Absolutely no complaints with that whatsoever.

I've always loved Ride the Wild Wind. It's a great driving song at night...great tempo, great drums, great guitar solo, just great overall. One of my favorite tracks on my fav Queen album.

Am I the only one who prefers Roger's version on the Deluxe edition? The 'Hey, Hey, Hey!' refrain is more befitting than the sample in the album take.

Strange how nowdays i also don't find All God's People pleasurable to listen to.
However when i discovered it in my teens i thought it was great for my ears. Just blasting it throgh the headphones gave me a panoramic wide spectrum of sounds and things that made my adrenaline go wild.
Well it has to do with age and how much you are able to take in i guess.
( ...this post makes me sound like an old fart btw)

I like that track.
It makes me regret the fact I've not yet owned a convertible. To me, total driving song.

I like both Ride The Wild Wind And All God's People, Especially the Middle section. The only weak Part of Innuendo for me is Delilah and The Hitman...
