...also admits doing drugs with Roger in the bathroom. Didn't mention which type.

Here's the full interview from The Howard Stern Show.

In my opinion Tyler sounds a bit jealous of Freddie i.e saying he did not like Freddie's voice or his style with the cut off mic etc but say's he loves Queen now, Tyler states Queen opened for them which I'm sure Queen didn't that's why Freddie and Tyler were having that big argument, can anyone remember if Queen opened for them

In an old interview with Brian i read in one of many books on Queen he stated Freddie and Tyler and there famous argument which nearly came to a fight all over who would headline that nights show, from what I remember I'm sure Brian said Freddie didn't back down etc but Tyler claimed Queen opened for Aerosmith? . It must piss Tyler off when Queen keep winning these best band polls or Freddie being voted greatest singer/front man polls.

I'm not a fan of Tylers voice in the slightest, husky screeching vocals reminds me of nails on a blackboard. It would be interesting if anyone had anymore info on this story. Cheers

I thought Roger Taylor said that he only did pot one time and he hated it because it hurt his head.

I recall Tommy Lee (of Mötley Crüe fame) mentioning the consumption of cocaine with Roger at some party or other.

The only useful thing he's ever contributed to the world was his daughter's fine-ass body.

Shit band.

I guess, being a well-known partylover, it would be easy to think that also Roger liked to snort some coke during their heydays. Not only Mercury, who used coke and uppers as a part of the gay/disco-scene quite regurlarly during the 1980-85 period.

Steven Tyler mentions about a "lost week" with Roger:

Roger also moved to LA 1982/84. That was just the place where all the so called "hairbands" emerged during that time and the drug-party-scene must have been quite huge then.

But the main difference between people like Paul Mccartney and Roger Taylor versus Steven Tyler and Tommy Lee is, that they seemed to use drugs only as for party purposes or at least much less in amount.

Many american bands just went totally nuts and became drug addicts right away and later started to even shoot heroin.. Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Guns n Roses etc.

Maybe it needs some kind of intelligence or down-to-earthiness to just use cocaine and alcohol as a party-mood enchancer. For many people it can quickly become a regural habit and there you go then, then its down-hill from there.

A friend of mine was stage manager at the SB Empire when Roger played there in 97 or whatever.

He said there were "bowls of gak" (cocaine) backstage.
No Freddie, No John.....No Queen

This is highly peculiar.

People who do coke, normally carry it with them in small amounts by themselves.

"A Bowl of cokaine" seems to be nothing more than a myth.

I was there, and the quantity of coke was enormous (small envelopes, at least close to a 100 of them each containing 1 gram)...

I guess this is irony?

Hah. Well 100g of coke is quite a lot really, enough for 100 people at any rate, but it's still only enough to fill a very very small bowl.

Tyler really sounds like a narrow-minded Bible belt American with his comments about Freddie. His criticism seems to be based on the fact that Freddie did not copy Mick Jagger.

As to the "Queen supported Aerosmith" topic - Queen never supported Aerosmith, both bands did support Mott The Hoople in Harrisburg, Pa May 1st, 1974. The fight was over which of the support bands was to play first and in the end Queen played first, then Aerosmith and finally the head liner Mott The Hoople. Famously, Brian emptied a full bottle of Jack Daniels with Jo Perry while the others were fighting and was subsequently drunk on stage :-) (source: As It Began)

That sounds Awesome. I can perfectly picture that.
Fighting in the background and these two guys talking and drinking like they didn't care.
Nice anecdote.
