Having not bought the album because I was expecting the box set, I threw in the towel and went to HMV Truro to buy the album because I think the box is going to be a month or more if it comes at all.

Guess what? They never received either, not the box set OR the CD.

Oh yeah. Was gonna cancel and then amazon dropped the price! Mines gone down by £20!

Will keep it and see what happens for now. See if their email about next week turns out to be true.

The picture of Roger next to the Fun In Space text is from the Strange Frontier sessions. He's even wearing the same t-shirt on the Strange Frontier page!

Thanks bohemian, lost opportunity eh! This was the chance to represent the videos and music fit for a 2013 audience.. Especially an audience who have 95% of the stuff... Such a let down.. Kinda sucks...

I have a hunch that everything was probably translated from a language other than English.

I also don't understand why the "short promotional film" (i.e. "music video") for the song "I Wanna Testify" is not included in this compilation?

QPL or whoever was in charge of the box weren't able to acquire the rights from the TV production company. Either the price asked was too high or QPL weren't willing to pay that much. Gary mentioned that somewhere in one of the threads.

And thank you for explaining what a "short promotional film" is.

I ripped all discs yesterday and had a look at each song and I think that the last sec or two of Rough Justice is actually tagged at the start of the 2nd Shelf Mix because there is a cross-fade between the two songs so I'll bet that the mix actually already starts at the last sec or two during Rough Justice and they therefore made the unconvential decision to index the two tracks like that.

I don't understand why no one will acknowledge if this will be released in the U.S. or not? I also don't understand why the "short promotional film" (i.e. "music video") for the song "I Wanna Testify" is not included in this compilation?

a US release? For Roger Taylor? There hasn't been a US release for him since the 80s. What makes you think there's a chance now?

I haven't heard all the discs yet but I may confirm that my copy of Blue Rock is also faulty (Life Changes) plus the two slow downs in My Country actually occur - it sounds like it was with vinyl albums when they slow down.

I may be looking for things now but if you Listen to My Country single version, at 1:47 it sounds as though the tape slips slightly. I can only pick this up when listening to it with headphones and it may be something from the original tapes possibly? A similar thing happens at 2:47 on Fun In Space (song), again this may have always been there but the improved sound makes it more obvious. Shame because they really do sound so much better than the previous version.

My Country speed change issues have already been reported.
Can anyone else confirm the same thing is happening on Fun In Space?

Gary Taylor has spoken and we now know most fans are happy with the set. So we should probably shut up and make do with a shoddy product, because Gary Taylor can apparently read the minds of everyone that has the boxset.

I'm referring to the single version of My Country, not the album version.

I confirm speed change issues on both versions of My Country (album & single version) and on Fun In Space song (2:47). It seems whole Fun In Space album + My Country singel version must be re-digitalized. Something went wrong with it.

Does anybody know for sure if the 1996 reissue of Fun In Space ran at the correct speed?

I seem to recall at the time thinking that it ran quicker than the original LP. Also the single versions on Youtube posted well over a year ago seem to match the box set, which kind of implies that maybe the issue is that the 1996 reissue was at the wrong speed which would make the boxed set correct - different to what we know, but correct compared to the original LP reissue.
