Has anyone seen a copy of this set on eBay yet? I am actually kind of shocked it's not listed there!
Yes, a month ago I saw a person from Germany who had some boxes on ebay (so the 1st edition), the starting price was 125 euro, after 20 days the price was 200 euro...
the most strange thing is that he is able to sell them at that price

Why would it be there already? Who would buy a £100 set only to sell it a few weeks later?
Um, people who make trying to profit off eBay resales a career? It's totally not an unreasonable question, considering what I've observed on eBay over the years since circa 1999.
I'm just puzzled, considering I've seen several copies of "Fun On Earth" on eBay, but no copies of "The Lot there yet.
Well the simple answer here is that the Fun On Earth album is the final version that's going to stay in the "stores", while The Lot is definitely going to be replaced.
And it's usually cheaper to buy a single album from eBay than e.g. the QOL store, so there is a profit to be made.

For The Lot, there was a market a month ago when it still wasn't available in the stores, but the market has died down with all the errors and reports of replacements. Nobody wants to buy a faulty secondhand product with no possibility of replacement, do they??

In a few weeks time the new batch would be available for sale, but you have to wonder why would anybody try to sell them on eBay for more than what it costs e.g. in the QOL store?

I have The Lot bought from amazon.co.uk. I've been on holliday and missed this thread going ballistic. How do I get a replacement boxset, do I have to register somewhere or will amazon contact me?
· Member since
Amazon will never contact you asking if you want a replacement box, this is for sure! You should contact Amazon instead, don't you think?

Owen, I would use the contact information for Universal posted somewhere throughout this topic to get a replacement disc set in order. Using Amazon will add an unnecessary layer of waiting and bureaucracy when you can just use the former info.

This is an awfully big thread, any hints on a term I can google the site for? Or does anyone have the details to hand and can post them again?

Plus aren't there faults with the book as well as the discs? Or are they only fixing the discs? (which is the important part after all).

...And in case you missed my experiences, it's also possible that Universal will throw the ball back to where you actually bought the product.

I don't know if it has something to do with my location or the specific request of getting the missing page of the book as well, but my replacement will apparently be handled by the QOL store where I actually bought the box.

Same here, I was told to try first at www.bol.com , where I bought my copy.
They are handling it at the moment (still waiting for a final answer)

If you know what they are, you won't think it's just you that has the problem. These are fan reports only, not official ones.
This post will be updated / amended as and when necessary.

Disc Errors / Issues reported:

1.) Life Changes (Blue Rock) the song suddenly stops, and then the first seconds of the song start again. (Corrected on replacement disc)
2.) Pressure On (Electric Fire): wrong mix. No 2nd voice for half of the first chorus. (01:58 - 02:07) (Corrected on replacement disc)
3.) Track index marker error on track 9 of Shove It. (Corrected on replacement disc)
4.) There are some complaints of juddering video on the DVD (Not a disc error - not taken from the masters!)
5.) Speed change issue on Fun In Space - 'My Country I & II' track and Fun In Space.
6.) Speed change issue RT Solo singles Disc 1 - 'My Country' (single version)
7.) Magic Is Loose is 6 seconds shorter, it seems to miss a part of the final fading.
8.) I Can't Get You Out Of My Head - unfortunately has count-in chords badly edited out, causing a slight cut to the beginning of the song.
9.) Celebration is abridged version. 1:45-2:25 fragment of the original 5:15 track is edited out.
10.) Shove It (extended mix) with track duration 5:02 should have been on 'The Cross Singles 1' disc, but instead it has 'The 2nd Shelf Mix' with track duration 5:55.
11.) Slight Track index marker error on track 3 of Happiness.
12.) Roger - The singles disc 2 gives track info ID for disc 1
13.) Some reports of missing/duplicate discs

Text Errors reported:
1.) The lyrics to the first four songs of Electric Fire are missing in the book (it starts with "People on streets")
2.) Incorrect spelling of 'Holocaust'
3.) The credits from 'Blue Rock' are directly taken from Discogs.com, including the (2) suffix for Peter Noone and the ANV-asteriks for Josh Macrae
4.) Wrong information - The book states Dear Mr Murdoch originally featured on the 1994 album "Electric Fire".
5.) In his foreword, final sentence, Rhys talks about a "cole" instead of "collection".
6.) In the track listing of the Cross-singles, last track (Shove it US), it is stated that the inclusion is a last minute "edition" instead of "addition".
7.) The DVD notes incorrectly state that both
versions of the "Power to Love" video are included (or perhaps one is actually missing from the disc?)
8.) Happiness Credits - The graphic symbols on the original credits near each musician's name that
identified who played in each song are substituted in The Lot booklet by letters such as "R", "a", "v" and even "@"! And anyway they are useless because they should have been reported also after each song's lyric. In the middle of the musicians names they put the copyright credits!
9.) RMT Fan has found and posted a host of small errors - Scroll down on this Link
10.) THE CROSS: THE SINGLES text notes - Man On Fire - The original version appears on the album 'Mad: Bad: And Dangerous To Know'. (That should be 'Strange Frontier')
11.) Wrong running order of FOE bonus tracks: "Whole House Rockin'" plays first, "Dear Mr. Murdoch" comes second.
I got my replacement CDs today and the corrections are in place ((some of the others mentioned like "My Country" are not mistakes but corrections from the 1996 remasters.) One thing to note, Roger The Singles Disc #2 still gives the wrong CD title ID (listed as Disc 1) HOWEVER it now gives the correct track listing. Least that's how it showed on my computer anyway.

^ The speed 'change' issues (5 & 6) are not 'corrections', the masters are in bad shape and this was the best that could be done with them.
What program on your PC gives you the track listings?

Amazing that the solo analogue tapes were not 'baked' or digitized years ago like all the original Queen ones. (certainly at least at the point a few years back when the tapes were out to put Strange Frontier and Fun In Space onto CD for the first time).

Perhaps something happened to them whilst in storage.
I was kind of hoping Josh would have enlightened everyone by now.
