Amazing that the solo analogue tapes were not 'baked' or digitized years ago like all the original Queen ones. (certainly at least at the point a few years back when the tapes were out to put Strange Frontier and Fun In Space onto CD for the first time).[/QUOTE]
Perhaps something happened to them whilst in storage.
I was kind of hoping Josh would have enlightened everyone by now.

I think QPL have some sort of a strange policy when it comes to discussing the physical state of their tapes. I asked Justin years ago what were the specific issues with the Milton Keynes '82 multitrack tapes that Brian only fleetingly made vague reference to on his Soapbox, and he politely said "You're asking for too much information I'm afraid"

"You're asking for too much information I'm afraid"

meaning

"We cannot reveal the crappy sources we use again and again to release crappy products."

and on a serious note, I remember that John S. Sturat wrote that most (or some) of the master tapes were stolen when Queen Prod. sent them to USA, for the 90's Hollywood remasters

Just received an email from Emma, my replacement boxset has been sent today, but it will take a while to arrive to the Netherlands... Anyone else?

I just got an email from Universal that a replacement box has been sent to me today.

This has now disappeared from Amazon AGAIN! :( perhaps I should now mention that Emma intimated that amazon would actually never be given stock in one of her emails to me :(

I also received an email today saying that my replacement box has been mailed today. We'll see if it takes longer to get to the Netherlands or the United States. Does anyone know what they actually ended up correcting?

She did day that Universal isn't exactly pleased with the product.

I'm guessing that Universal doesn't like the idea of shipping expensive items to stores, only to have them all replaced again a week later...

Only when all the previous customers are reasonably satisfied with their replacement products, can they ship the rest of the boxes to stores to recoup some of their losses.

Holy fuck almighty!!! Queen had most of their master tapes stolen back in 1990??!!!! What the fuck?!!

Well I, completely gutted as it's gone from Queen online too! with no mention of it. My original prediction of never getting it is looking to come true :(

The whole thing is a fucking farce - but then Universal shouldn't be promising Amazon stock and then pulling it. Surely amazon wouldn't have been listing it unless Universal had promised it.

Joke. Absolute fucking joke.

I think the story is that QPL accidently sent the true master tapes (instead of the intended dubs) and multitracks, enabling Hollywood to then get remixes commissioned. Whether some tapes went AWOL, I've no idea.

Phew on the amazon thing but quite bizarre. Emma, as always, was superb. I emailed her last night and she was in touch before 8am this morning! She is great.

Funnies but was when I said "I bet you wish you had never heard of Roger Taylor" and she pointed out she worked for him :D

A replacement box has been sent to me today as well. Am wondering if it is just the discs like for everyone else here or the full deal (why would she otherwise say "box" if it were just the discs).
Anyway, yes, she delivers good service, is very quick and friendly.
