GT, I understand that you and Greg did not proof read the final version of the book.
Did anybody actually proof read it?

Believe me, I understand the frustration that everybody feels about this product, as we feel the same. Once our work is done it is passed on to another team to put everything together. I'm not sure what is happening with this set now but hopefully the errors in the text and on the discs will be corrected.

So, GT has admitted not proof reading it. But it remains ambiguous... Is he saying that somebody else was SUPPOSED to, but didn't, or is he admitting, "yes, I messed up, because I didn't proof-read it"?

Oh, and hello Victor :) Yes, Queen is my fav' band, and RT is a hero to me. Been following them for donkey's years.

Funny story: Just when I reached the stage of becoming a real fan (exploring beyond the greatest hits, etc), I started going out with a lovely girl, who took me home to meet her Mother. Her Mum asked me what my fav' band was, and when I told her, she said "follow me", and took me into another room where she opened a huge cabinet which was FULL of Queen stuff. There and then, she gave me a duplicate of RT's Foreign Sand CD single, and Blue Rock on cassette. I never thought it possible to love a Mother and a Daughter in equal measure, but it is :D

GT, I hope my earlier post made sense to you (being thrown to the wolves). I have utmost respect, as I'm sure many people do. I love my wife, but I don't always see eye to eye with her, if that makes sense. (??) I genuinely cancelled my box set order, because I don't want a set with errors, in the hope that a new version comes out. If it doesn't, that would be a pity, but not the end of the world, as I have 99% of the stuff anyway. But I hope it happens. :) I hope all is well at Team RT and that Roger takes all this frustration as a measure of enthusiam for his work, rather than a slating.

And we understand. I hope that there´s communication between the teams at this point, to point out everything that´s gone wrong with "The lot" so you guys can fix it. There´s already a Topic in Queenzone discussing this matter, and it would be great if people in charge could read it.

On the other hand, if you feel the need, create a topic asking for help regarding this issues. There´s lots of bitching going around here, but there are people who genuinely want to help.

All the best to you guys, and i hope everything will be fine. If Roger was doubtful about the fans interest in his solo stuff, this is prove that we still care for Roger and we support him till the end.

Lets hope it is all sorted out, and quite soon.
We really want this to be the great release that it should be.

Absolutely VK.
In the meantime play the CD's in the box, including the superb new album, and listen to these wonderful musical gems from 1977 to the present day and everything in between and just enjoy the music. That's what I'm doing right now.

Actually Gary, I'm a little dissopointed that I may be getting the "2nd Printing" with all the errors repaired. I was hoping to get the first "Withdrawn/recalled" print. Apart from the cock up with "Life Changes" everything else just adds to what will become a rare sought after collectors item.
Who want's the original "Pressure On"? not me, I already have it. Rather have this new version..

That's funny. You are not the only one to say this, but I'm sure somebody would be eager to make a swap with you if they so desired.

Really Word???
I suspect a flood of copies will hit ebay as soon as a corrected pressing becomes available as people rush to get rid of the dodgy ones so they can afford to buy the corrected ones!
Don't worry. You can have my boxset in all it's dodgy glory if you get me a corrected one... :)

GT - Thanks for explaining as much as you can what happened with The Lot.
I know you don't have to and appreciate the effort.

All - Amazon Canada have pushed the release date back to December 10th, so I'm hoping they get a fixed version out before Christmas but I'd rather wait a bit longer for a fixed version.
It is a lot of money to pay, so you would expect some quality control.

I recently bought the new Fish album 'A Feast of Consequences' and that was delayed because the manufacturer used cheaper paper stock for the book on the first printing. I'm pretty sure most if not all purchasers wouldn't have cared, after all, there was nothing to compare it with, but they put the release back until they could get reprints and instead sent a download link to everyone who bought the premium edition, so at least we didn't have to wait for the music. (The standard cd was still available to buy)
Thing is, that was the artist himself making the decisions, I very much doubt Roger would get that involved.
However his product team should have. This product was always going to be a one shot deal so a lack of quality control is surprising.

Incidentally, the Fish album is surprisingly good, but the packaging of the deluxe edition is a thing of beauty and I'm glad they waited to get it right. You can see a picture here.
