'The Lot' is being fixed at this very moment. [/QUOTE]
Thanks Greg.
1) Now you're being cheeky, suggesting there might actually have been some proof checking going on!!! :-)
2) On a serious note, thanks for the confirmation that it's being fixed. Are you able to confirm this goes as far as all the audio issues that 'we' have pointed out being corrected, or is it just the inclusion of the full booklet pages and the correct CDs being inserted?
Thanks
Chris

I hope Greg is right and the errors are being rectified.
I hope that would also include the correct ext mix of Shove It appearing instead of the 2nd shelf mix again and if that's the case, perhaps they could find room for the original version of (fucking) Nazis and the Japanese promo version of "Dear Mr Murdoch".
Whilst they may not have been available for everyone to buy, they WERE released officially on promo discs and should therefore have been included.
It's just a shame that more unreleased stuff wasn't made available, though I suspect the only reason we got the few unreleased songs we did get on The Cross Singles disc is because they only had half a disc used (didn't stop them with the Queen remasters though did it?)
Great collection of previously released material (everything sounds wonderful), but that's pretty much all it is, which is the disappointing bit. It could and should have been so much more.
If only having a limited number of discs was an issue, then they should have done what every other artist under the sun does and issue the related additional material on the same disc as the album, leaving the other discs available for 'other' stuff.
Sadly I've been a fan for too long and expect disappointment.
Must be worse for Greg and Gary though, knowing what exists because they've seen it and heard it but knowing they'll only get copies themselves if it gets released :(

I may be in the minority, but the fact that there even is a Roger Taylor box set filled with discs that sold minimally in the first place, is extraordinary. How many members of other bands would receive that treatment. I received my set the other day and, although I am not pleased that there are errors, it's a great package for anybody who is a collector or completist. By reading the posts, you would assume that high crimes and unbelievable damage were committed. The niggling over laying blame, wanting immediate answers, and character assasination is exhausting. This website has degenerated into something that is entirely based on negativity.
....and as far as rocknrolllover goes, everytime you respond to him you provide him with the forum to continue to rant and take a thread off topic. Ignore him and maybe he will go away.....and now I am guilty of the same thing, but this will be my first and last time addressing it.

Anyway... I genuinely hope people do enjoy the fixed RT box, coz there's some fab stuff there to discover or rediscover. There's a good deal more than you might think.

Once the record company announces a disc replacement program where we can mail the bad discs in and get the corrected ones, I'll be damn happy. (but if they think fans will buy the whole box set a second time, they're gonna lose a LOT of money.)

GB: Yes the audio errors are being fixed too.

Thank you - very good to know. I'm told by Amazon that my set is coming 25th Nov so am happy that this will be 'fixed'.

Anyone here bought the iTunes edition of The Lot? I'm assuming that it has the same audio errors, and that it is therefore purely a money grabbing exercise that results in it STILL being on sale, despite them knowing about the errors - now that is very naughty.....

Well for whatever it is worth I am looking forward to purchasing this at some point. God I love Queen and all of their solo stuff too.

I would like to know if I have to buy now (ie it's limited) or if I'll be ok to wait until after Christmas.....

Guys, it seems this will be fixed. So QPL put out a faulty product but apparently they are doing something about it. The company should be ashamed of the awful mistakes, yes, but it's childish and plainly stupid to give Gary or Greg a hard time for it.
How would you, Queen fans, feel if you had contributed to this project? Wouldn't you feel proud of what YOU did? Wouldn't you be frustrated that your contribution got diluted by poor proof-reading that wasn't part of your job?
I can certainly see where Gary is coming from. He gave it all his best, did what he had to do and now some online forum assholes are being outright nasty to him.
Let's not forget he posts here in his own personal time and not as a Queen Productions representative. He's a fan, like the rest of us.
Now, if it was Jim Beach we were talking about I would probably think differently...

Great to read that errors are being fixed... I wish they finish soon and box can be ordered again.
Would be good to include the "alternate" mix of Pressure On as bonus track :-P

Greg,
Would it be correct to assume this second wave of releases of The Lot will be the fixed version?

Well at least the fuss around this release can't be seen as 'boring', so it looks like if Jim had any involvement with this he's finally adhering to Freddie's wish, but just got a bit muddled and applied it to Roger instead!!

Not really been keeping track of all the fuss about this, noticed my order had been put back till Dec... basically glad it's being fixed however's fault it was. And looking forward to hearing it.
Mistakes happen, i'm guessing there was a lot...? but if they are being fixed prior to release, great. QPL have had something of a history of poor final checks so maybe this will give them a kick up the arse to sort that final stage out before shoving everything out.
I spent my first years in a job working on an international business magazine, we used to get complaints from around the world if one word was miss-spelt, but it does happen, however you have to have a pretty good team of proof readers on a monthly publication so very few slipped through, its just about being professional, something that many companies these days fail at because we all live in a world were everything is done on the cheap.
So GB and GT I will look forward to my copy and I'm glad it is being sorted prior to me opening it.
