Apologies again for the bad language but it is 1.23am in the morning. In the UK and in the USA, Canada and South America, I apologise if it is before the offical time I can be so foul mouthed. For anyone else in the world outside of the UK and the Americas, FUCK YOU.

I make a lovely Victoria sponge, or fruit cake if you prefer. Shall I bring one along?
Vic Sponge, yes please Jam Monkey. This is going to be a good 'do' !!!!

Let's make it next Thursday though, as I missed the original date I proposed.

And can someone bring malted milk biscuits too. 8 packets should suffice.

And Jaffa cakes.

So far, Kamca, there are 44 of us. Yes you may bring wine, but it should be made with English grapes please, and have some pear in it too, ideally... and you might like to bring a Battenberg cake?

Hi Greg

I have been a Queen fan over many years, and I have today registered on the Queenzone site. For some reason Queenzone thinks I am Canadian(!) but actually I live in the South East of England near London!

It would be a real pleasure to meet you as Queen's archivist even if it is not next Monday but sometime in the future.

I realise that you are being very generous by inviting complete strangers into your home to potentially chat about things, so please ideally let me know in advance if you already have a 'full house' before I begin making the journey on Monday.

In addition please let me know as to whether you enjoy alcohol or not and if so (or not), what else do you like in terms of food and beverages?

Perhaps you can drop me a message back to let me know if this is still possible on Monday and perhaps you could clarify further details.

Many thanks

Hey there dragonfly.trumpeter.... nice response, thank you very much.

But don't make the journey until this event is fully sorted, because it might not happen. It depends upon many things which are currently being looked into...

Malted Milk biscuits, Battenberg cake, Jaffa cakes, Victoria sponge, wine, green tea, lack of chairs, my dog is a bit vicious with visitors, my teapot is cracked a bit, my tea strainer has holes in it, I only have 4 spoons - to share between 44 people (11 people have to share)... you see some of the logistical problems involved in organising an event of this magnitude.

Please hold fire there until it's all sorted - and I have a new table cloth.

In the meantime, perhaps you could look into how to make Banoffee pie and/or Pavlova. Both, in fact.

Take it steady dragonfly.trumpeter

Hi Greg

Just following on from my earlier message, I lead quite a busy life, and something else has cropped up tomorrow which I need to attend to, and so it now looks like I am not going to be able to meet you and other fans tomorrow which is a real shame.

One thing I wanted to thank you for was the 'Queen Live - A Concert Documentary' book which is a book I purchased 15+ years ago and which I refer to quite a bit. Thanks again for this - it is a great book, and thanks also for your other work for Queen Productions.

Kind regards

Dear dragonfly.trumpeter...

You sound like a very nice and genuine person, and a REAL Queen fan.

My suggestion of coming to my house for English tea last week, was really only a little friendly joke - just a bit of fun, not very serious.

Sometimes in the past I have had some bad feeling or arguments here on QZ, or somebody getting annoyed because I use this 'serious' forum for things that other people think are not serious.... and so that's why I suggested a tea party on this Serious forum. Just a light-hearted joke.

BUT... several people have written to me personally, and said "Why don't you organise this properly Greg."

Somebody just wrote and said... it could be a big open space in London, with blankets on the ground, food, wine, cake, biscuits (they all have to be English though)... and we share Queen stories and have a good laugh. (thanks Kamca)

Maybe it could be at Knebworth House, on that lovely big field there - the scene of Queen's final concert?

So.... I might do. I will have a word with Jacky Smith at the Fan Club and see if she likes the idea of a Big Queen English Tea Party in London, just for the fun of it, and so that fans like you can get together and share things.... or look at sorting something myself if she's not keen.

Leave it with me.

What do you think dragonfly.trumpeter?

Maybe we should do this for real.

I have arrived a little early so as not to miss anything, I must say Greg your house is filled with wonderous things, tape after tape covered in dust with what looks like Kneb----------   fu-----  recor.  can't make it out but you seem to have nine copies of it, plus something showing photos of Freddie with Michael Jackson in the studio with a lama and sing hanging on the Freddies neck, he doesnt look pleased!

Wow, I see a tape saying Bo Rap II and III, where did you fond such treasures?

Not sure I would have kept the Wombles outtakes tape, but hey

I can see a dim light coming from a door under the stairs, i'll just pop down to see if you in there....   wait WTF....  this is amazing you have a copy of.................................................
it can't be 1:23am in all those places at the same time....unless you're doing some pretty whacky time-travelling

UK is +5hrs ahead of USA, USA has at least 4 times zones (incl hawaii) and parts of Sth America are only -4hrs GMT

Did we just go from Greg being his usual humorously-challenged self to him organizing a Rule Britannia Jingoist picnic? For the English(wo)men on this forum - what controlled drugs were taken off the Misuse of Drugs Act this past month?

Greg, is there any chance you would share here a clean recording of you saying "Property of Queen Productions"?

Jaffa Cakes. Are they cakes or are they biscuits? You decide.
