I've got no problem with Kerry getting involved with the Queen album, backing vocals or duet with Freddie, did we all freak when he duetted with Montserrat ? Kerry has a great voice and I've enjoyed what she's done with Brian so far, I think we all get a little too insular thinking it must be only the original 4 members on this album, if it's a good album, it's a good album, full stop !!!
On which Queen song does Montserrat guest, then?

The idea of Kerry doing an "occasional backing vocal" on a Queen album fills me with horror.
Many Queen albums had guest backing vocalists. Why would this be any different?"
-which ones, which songs?
Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Don't Lose Your Head, Let Me Live
any others?
Teo Torriatte
The choir at the end? I always thought that was Roger, Brian and Freddie with a bit of vari-speed!
Is there a credit on sleeve notes?

Cool Cat (with David Bowie) - yes, it's just a demo, I know.
Who Wants To Live Forever - boys choir, I don't think it counts, though.

Brian has already said they are working on a track from 93' so my bet is Let Me In Your Heart Again, the Queen version has never been finished,
Where did you come up with this one Togg?
"Let Me In Your" is, I believe, from 1986-ish and IS complete.
Greg Brooks said as much many years ago at Convention and I have no reason to disbelieve him.

Well, Brian confirmed the year of the track he and Roger had been working on recently and said it was as yet unheard outside the band and I guess the likes of Greg. They didnt say what they were doing to it so finished is presumably only if they still feel it is.... maybe just re-mixing who knows, but the time period is right so i am making an assumption

Sorry misread your quote, I believed it was recorded originally around the same time as The Works, am I wrong?

Don't know there is a credit, but I recall an interview with Brian (possibly around the time he did the HD Mix) that there were various people such as girlfriends etc.. on there.
Can anyone corroborate?

What are the chances of them getting their hands on that elusive hangman track and all of those unworked gems from the 70's? along with such songs as silver salmon and polar bear, we will rock you fast or get the required licenses and let fans officially hear the very first tracks Freddie sung... I can hear music and Goin back... there are must be an album+ worth of complete songs such as these let alone the known youtube demos of the 1988-91 years that they recorded in studio over the years in good quality or to a point of not needing major work but haven't, a, been released as a b side or b, didn't make the light of day on the bonus discs 2011. I don't know...? is the much point in releasing those anyway? Lot of fans out there that would love to hear these tracks on a official Brian/Roger released cd regardless of if its a complete song or a instrumental demo. Just to give a rare insight into how songs where made and how hits started off... From a band whose band members each made multiple timeless hits such as We Will Rock you, Its a Kinda Magic, Bohem Rhap and ABTD through to the hidden gems such as liar, millionaires waltz, you and I....

I've been wondering lately whether a Queen version of The Great Pretender would be good on a new album. Or, would it be going against their thing about not doing cover songs on albums? (The three reworks of FM & Cross songs on MiH sort of are covers, but at least they were written by band members)

I wouldn't bet against a cover. Roger and Brian have both put more than one cover on a solo album each, and with Paul Rodgers they also had 'Runaway' as an extra track on 'The Cosmos Rocks.
I think with Queen originally they simply didn't need to include covers as they more often than not had enough original material to work with, but that may not be the case now.
