Zebonka12 wrote: I've been hesitating a lot as far as the Q+AL threads go. There's fun to be had in going after thick people, but not a lot of fun when it comes to out and out fanaticism. Actually, I find it to be one of the most depressing human traits. It's truly miserable seeing these poor sods with whatever axe it is they have to grind, desperately trying to make the rest of the world love their favourite singer. It makes him look stupid by association. He might be a really chill, friendly individual, but the conduct of his fans smears him with an air of 'love me, love me, love me!'. I couldn't have greater contempt than I have for fanbases like Lambert's. And I'm not even on the record as saying he's talentless or anything. He's all wrong for Queen, but what the hell - it sells tickets, right?
Whew, up till then I thought you were talking about Freddie's and 1/2 Queen fans (and by 1/2 I mean the half that's not there, of course). But I definitely know what you mean by thick and humorless fans. Very depressing indeed.

I'm sorry. I've seen some random 10 minutes of the first half, but I can't listen to him. I hate his screeching. Seriously HATE it. I can't really understand how can somebody TOLERATE it, and obviously there are people who LIKE it which is quite a shock.
what's more shocking is that there are bona fide Queen fans that are supporting this debacle. The guy has range but awful tone
Don't get me wrong. I have a deep respect to Adam's voice and his range, I seriously do. But I hate his high tones
I really know nothing about music (except what I like), but isn't Adam's "high tone" because he is a natural tenor which is somewhat rare in male opera singers? I don't know if this true or not.
I wish I would know the proper terms, but what I was trying to say I hate what he's doing with his high tones. It sounds like torture

"I never said the QAL sales are due to Adam alone."

However, you guys are always spinning the facts to give Adam more credit for the draw than he deserves. I've yet to see Queen fans posting factually questionable sales spreadsheets ;)
OR you guys are always trying hard to spin the facts the other way because you don't approve of 1/2 Queen + collabs.

¯\_(''/)_/¯

As strange as it may seem, I think there were some Queen fans who wanted to see the QAL sales tank and are disappointed in how well they're doing. Now that's weird.
I had absolutely no problems with the QPR "thingie"

Who's Zebonka? I hope it's someone fun, and not dreary.
If she's icy's sister, I'm going to get out my garlic!
I like her name though. You can do a lot of alliteration with it; zebonka donka doo, just to name few.

(Oh oh, rhyming is coming awful close to haikus - I'd better watch my step!)
My God at you both. Do you even check things before you aim barbs at people.
Major fail. One that poster has been at QZ for years in case you haven't noticed. One is this another thing that will be try to be covered up as a joke.
Yet AL comments that was made that he sings like a goat, and funny pics are enough to cause sweetcaroline to whine. Yet, you both "joke" that a poster here "if" that person could be my sister if so and get out the garlic garlic .Jeez, did that come from PLL or Twilight or what?

This is quickly becoming the most annoying thread.

I wonder if that's a reflection of me for kinda suggesting it or because it's a case of proselytizing for Adam.

I hope it gets worse so I have something entertaining to read when changing trains

Okay, let's take a go at this without sarcasm (for those willing to step outside of their passive-aggressive behavior and talk openly about what's happening here).

Brian and Roger announce a QAL summer tour and Adam's fans, with some exception, are really excited. The exceptions would be a subset of those fans who really prefer that Adam focus on his own career in pop, and don't want him associated with rock - even with a legendary group like Queen. Don't ask me to explain that further, because being a fan of rock and Queen and Adam, I love the idea, but there you are, those fans exist.

So these excited fans quickly seek out the Queen sites to learn what they can expect from this QAL collaboration. Yes, because many of them were not actually Queen fans to begin with, either because they were too young to experience them firsthand, or because they were, conversely, too old (i.e. they were raising families during that time and missed it).

They get to these Queen sites, all enthused and excited, but what they find is something they didn't expect: that like the fans who want Adam to focus on his own career in pop, there are Queen fans who don't want anything to do with a Queen project that doesn't include Freddie and John.

So these two groups meet, one enthused and excited, the other angry and outraged. The angry fans have been at the site forever, and by their seniority alone feel entitled to owning the forum. Maybe that's because the primary group are British fans, and the UK has always had a more status-conscious society than America - just a guess, I seriously do not mean offense in speculating on that.

The angry group have already railed at Brian and Roger - to no avail. They can't reach Adam any more than than they can reach the last members of Queen, so what do they do? They turn that anger and outrage onto the excited and enthused Adam fans. Seriously, it's like kicking a frolicking puppy.

I'm an excited and enthused fan, but I'm not a missionary. I don't care about converting anyone. But I don't like puppy-kicking. It irritates me that there is such a strong sense of entitled superiority on a public forum that on paper is open to all as long as there is a Queen connection, which surely QAL is.

But it's not just the two groups going at each other, it's the modding of these sites, where the enthused excitement of one group is met by derision and insults, which in turn begets the very human response of derision and insults. Kicking puppies is a cycle, you see. Apparently it's part of the human condition.

It doesn't help that otherwise logical and good-hearted people seem to lose their common sense, humor and humanity in this process, and not only continue but encourage the cycle of bullying.

If anyone here sees it in any other way, I'd be glad to discuss it with them in a calm, rational, non-puppy-kicking way. If they want to continue kicking puppies, then count me out - I'm a puppy defender.

Of course AL fans are excited. The hope AL doing shows with Brian and Roger will help his career.
AL fans seek out Queen related sites to promote the guy, praise the guy, speak of Queen only when it includes AL, take offense of his behalf, and are wannabe spokespeople for him.
Bullying, again you are a good one to bring that up. As if you are totally innocent. I disagreed about you about AL, and that was enough for you to threaten legal action. You stated you copied/kept and threatened to forward my posts on. I think you kicked your own ass there.

Snipped most of your blathering nonsense.

You fanatics are more like a rabid, diseased mutt than a puppy. An animal that must be put down. (it's a joke, lighten up)

Oh and my revulsion at Lamberace's voice existed separate from 1/2 Queen. It's a showy, over-the-top, theatrical instrument without any soul. I do "get" why Bri & Rog are smitten with it but they only got half of it right. The theatrical, "dangerous" part but are clueless of the more important part, the soul and aching beauty that a Freddie had

Adam couldn't make it without idol (nobody signed him) and once the Idol bounce wears off he won't be able to make it as a solo artist. He just doesn't have the natural talent needed. He has fans who are influenced by the shallow, empty celebrity culture.

His label was keen to that so they wanted him to do any 80s cover album because not nearly enough people care to hear him sing original songs.

A good reference point is Clay Aiken who was 3x more successful with his post idol albums but today retains a small cult following. That's where Lambgoat is headed.

You're simply a bully troll. Those are people who are either so unsatisfied or downtrodden in their real world lives they need to come online to get their aggression out anonymously, else risk being fired or unloved.

More importantly to me, you have just exposed yourself for what you are to everyone here who simply lurks and/or are not trolls.

I would say have a good day, but unfortunately people like you are really not capable of having a good day unless they can make other people's days miserable.

But have a good day anyway if you can.

No worries, some can see right through you here too.
