I was a little too young to see Queen live,I would have been 14 when he did Wembley although Ive seen the DVD many many times. Freddie did say in an interview that he wouldn't be jumping around the stage forever due to inevitable aging process and that he would still always have a hand in writing material,I presume for other bands.
Anyone ever wondered what their concerts would be like nowadays with freddie? Brian and Roger are going big again with Adam Lambert on the New American tour but would we still have this this level of concert with a 68 year old Freddie? A big part of who he was was that flamboyant energetic guy giving us all a massive stage prescence running around, but I always wondered had he been around now would the concerts be more low key nowadays not wembley-esqe as they are doing now with lambert? I mean would freddie be running around from pillow to post nowadays with his white pants and vest on?
Im hoping someone may have some idea or have visioned a how a concert would be now if Freddie was alive.

I think Freddie always evolved as a live performer. His delivery and persona on stage actually changed quite a bit. Compare mid 70's with late 70's and then early and mid 80's footage. He is different in each. At wembley as on other Magic tour gigs he didn't pose as much or like he used to in the earlier days. He communicated very differently with the audience to over the years.
I would imagine that he would have carried on like this, had he carried on beyond 1986. He was becoming less outlandish and slowly becoming like a lot of other performers, although better and still with that incredible in pact on an audience which very view ever had.
Would Queen still be together or if so would they still be touring? No one can answer that question. If they were, I think Freddie would still be Freddie, though not quite as we remember him being. Maybe closer to the way Paul Rodgers was when he fronted Queen. More of a singer than a showman.

Thankyou for your response. Its nice to hear from people like yourself who have had a better idea of how Freddie was over the years than me. I remember seeing a recent Rolling Stones on tv and a 70year old Jagger on stage. Ok the guy still has energy but doesnt seem to pull it off now. Its just like watching an old man prance around the stage and to me it doesnt really look right anymore. Having said that, this was part of Jaggers way and the way we saw Freddie in the magic tour was his way and I could never imagine him singing them repotoir of songs and not running around. Maybe Freddie would be like how Paul Rodgers was when he fronted Queen if he was around.

Yeah less of the running around I would imagine, but I truly believe John would never have toured again after 1986.

I was under the impression John quit because of what happened to Freddie. Thats always what I presumed anyway.

No I still feel that was a great get out clause for him, lots of stories have come out that John really didn't like the limelight, and didn't like being away from his family for long periods.

Ok. What did Brian recently mean about John Being 'fragile' when asked about a reunion in the new US tour?

Yeah, I think that was an interesting choice of words, didn't really know what he meant by that, apart from the fact that fame doesn't sit well with John and he'd much rather hide himself away.

He was referring to all the hip injuries John had incurred from lap dances over the years.

I think he would have never got back together with queen in the late 80's and eventually set out doing theatre.

Sorry. Got distracted
I'd always thought about that when I was younger and Disney was premiering soundtracks to large productions.
I always figured that Freddie would be heavily instrumental in soundtracks.
Queen's presence on the U.S. Hollywood Records label would only validate this more.
Possibly mentoring and managing a label but only showing up to do an occasional awards ceremony. AND their 30th anniversary. Something like the Stones did. A U.S. and U.K. tour maybe Rio once more. They WOULD have been asked to do an Olympics ceremony.
And yes, I could imagine Freddie being a co host of something like the voice and being glaringly funny
I'm not certain the band would have continued had it not been for Freddie's illness.
I don't think he'd be performing onstage at this age. I think he'd be somewhat retired.

Freddie wouldn't've NEEDED (economically) to do ANYTHING. So he would've done what he wanted. Probably a mixture of solo and Queen records, and perhaps some solo and Queen performances. Much like Brian and Roger have.
And I think he would've evolved his stagecraft, though I don't think the Barcelona-related performances are much of an indicator of how his performing style would've evolved. Now, The Great Pretender (which wouldn't've happened) is another matter. :-)

That would have been soooo interesting and unique in so many levels!
Can you imagine yourself as a candidate giving a performance infront of Freddie?
For me it would have been the equivalent of god's judging me.( i am an atheist but..u know..)

How does anyone imagine Freddie to look nowadays? At first I thought maybe dyed black hair but then that would look stupid. Greyhair, similar style to how he had it towards the end but shorter and a bit more receding, grey designer stubble,no tash of course and would still be the same weight as around the mid 80s so I could have imagine him looking like a man who still kept himself darn fit. And yes sat in the chair on The Voice

How would Freddie perform nowadays?
That's very personal, and not in my mind-set to even think about it. I guess the hip action might not have been what it used to be, but I really don't want to try figuring it out.
