I could see Freddie looking like the Barcelona era...Chunky with a beard...A strong Voice, probably more opera style than Rock...He would have had a hard time singing those old Queen songs...

You mean to say he'd be a bald fattass of excess, like a fat Frenchman.... wearing his Hawaiian shirts and a small hat like (deceased American new Orleans chef) Paul Prudhomme?
Hmm. ... interesting.
First time I've read someone suggesting Freddie would be fat

Some little tours with Queen, but most of the time, piano concerts, ochestra concerts and opera things.

Ok. What did Brian recently mean about John Being 'fragile' when asked about a reunion in the new US tour?
He was referring to all the hip injuries John had incurred from lap dances over the years.
Ouch!! lol

Couldnt imagine he would have let himself go. Id imagine him being trim for his age. Still defined face and jawline although smoking taking its toll his skin and voice.

One thing for sure, he would have performed beautifully and to an adoring audience.

^^^^^ Totally agree! And he would definitely still look gorgeous, but perhaps in a different way. He re-invented his look every few years anyway. He had immense charisma, and that does not fade away with age.

As is well known, he really wanted to explore the soul waters after success with Barcelona and Montserat. Aretha Franklin was the challenge. If he had succeeded in partnering with her, he may somehow changed creative musical directions. But would Queen go for it or would he pursue a solo path with Aretha? Fascinating subject!

Did I get the impression Freddie wanted to come out of rock anyway? I think it was some interview he did at the end of the 80s. Im sure it was some comment he made about not doing any more rock.

Sounds like '87 'jukebox' interview. But I think he meant it more as a joke.
“It’s amazing, I mean now I’m going to opera, you know; forget rock’n’roll.”

Yeah that was the quote I was on about

He would have been one of the many singers of his era that would have lost their vocal chops. His voice was already developing problems in the mid-80's and undoubtedly, like Elton John or similar, he would have had a considerably reduced range by now.
I like to think he would have been more sensible with the type of work he took on that the likes of McCartney et al, but of course, you never can tell.

I actually thought he had a strong voice in the mid 80s. I think a voice that rock as he seemed a little smooth back in the 70s. Maybe the fags had a big impact on that. I think we have to take an example of rock stars that are of similar age now. Put it this way I could never imagine a 67year old running up and down the stage and then doing catapillar moves on the floor. I have this vision of him being how Paul Rodgers is now as someone mentioned. Perhaps using the stage in full and getting into the crowd but at a slightly slower pace. I always wonder if Freddie would have been Sir Freddie by now. Has this ever been brought up (changing the topic subject slightly)?
