I can't picture it.
I can see an old Frank Zappa, an old George Harrison, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, even Jim Morrison ... I just can't picture an old Freddie Mercury.

Was freddie thinning on top naturally or was that the aids doing that?I remember seeing him on Youtube not long before he passed away and he has balding. Im not sure if this had anything to do with his illness,if its a symptom of the medication because otherwise if it was natural he would probably be bald now anyway.

He was thinning in the early 80s already. I'd say it has nothing to do with AIDS, per se (the stress sure didn't help).
Plenty of men go gray and bald in their 20s..

So now im visioning a bald or id say the shaved look when younger blokes go thin and beard stubble. I can see stubble.lol

One advantage of him dying when he did is he's not around to tarnish his legacy.

^ that concept doesn't actually exist.
No present or future action can eliminate good art created in the past. That phrase needs to be removed from our vernacular.
Unless you're Gary Glitter. Diddling kids is the only possible exception.

Why would he be tarnishing his legacy?

Appearance-wise.
I think that he would have stayed in the moustached 1986 verion. That look complimented him a lot, hiding the over-bite, underlying his strong jaw-line and giving him attitude.
Due to his heritage i don't think he would have lost his hair.
He also had dark-olive skin. Most of dark-skined people age well.
And i don't think he would be that different. I mean look at Tom Selleck (becouse of the moustache). He is more or less like he was 20 years ago.
HIV and the drugs after 1986 changed his figure a lot and in different directions (buffed face-then extremelly thin) giving the impression he would be unrecognisable today.
Career -wise ( Overal presence/creativity/performance)
Well Freddie was a lot what you call "a man of his time". So its hard to imagine how he would have carried himself and his creativity through the 23 last years. Especcially with so much things having changed (music industry, public life of celebrities, LGBT issues,media/internet etc)."
However today Peter Freestone wrote on his blog about Freddie :
" I believe that if he was with us still, there would of course be music from Queen, but also that they would have felt secure enough to throw themselves into various solo projects. Maybe Freddie would have moved more into music for theatrical music presentations, rather than specific opera or musicals. Freddie always had a fondness for live theatre.

I think Freddie wouldn't be as active. After all, he would've been 67. Also, Freddie would have done more opera projects as well as making new albums with Queen.
