I just think it would be better if it wasn't there....

And I think it'd be better if you weren't here.

Seriously - all you do is whine.

Do you even like Queen? Or anything?

Offer something positive or constructive for a change.

It would make a more "accessible" song without it. But in the course of a dream/nightmare it is quite an artistic expression of turmoil

I like cake... and beer. Positive enough for you?

I only say because I have just listened to the album all the way through for the first time in a while and it is ridiculously, superbly brilliant. If I was to play the album to a Queen virgin I could extol its brilliantness all the way through, apart from that bit, I would be.. 'I don't know why this is here?!'

Brian wanted to do his guitar thing but with voices. I find myself clock watching. (Incidentally, there is an unintentional hit of a bass string part way through the vocal bit)

Actually, I kinda like it. Makes the song a bit unique. And Freddie's voice is always a treat for the ears...

Better to listen to it through one speaker if you must...

The middle bit sucks big time. The Prophet's Song is majestic and freaking awesome, but the middle bit is embarrassing and a pain to listen to. It never seems to end.

This and Sweet Lady - the only weaknesses of the album.

The Prophet's song is a perfect masterpiece as it is. And please be nice to each other, kids. :)

I agree. Some over -indulgence with the delay thing that seemed to facinate both Brian and Freddie a looooot.

Also Freddie's vocals are not as typicaly top -notch.
In the "now i know" part as he is reaching higher notes there is audiable strain in the voice and luck of thickness

I think if they used more effects/sounds or better multi-harmonies it could be a psycadelic thing and not this multy-cry out loud -WTF! section.

I got the point of some of you, but I HAVE to disagree.

I grew up listening to that bit and showing it proudly to everyone around as proof of how wonderful and unpredictable Queen could be.

A song that starts calmly, gains rhythm, pace and groove and then rocks. Then it stops all of the sudden and warns us of The Prophecy with multiple multiplied anxious Mercury vocals. "Death all around.. ".

Then you have what could be a choir of angels, that also becomes anxious or nervous... So, the best of hard rock takes over. Bang!

Masterpiece, just like it is. Bohemian Rhapsody's not-so-pop bastard sister. Love it, I really do.

Cheers,

Would have made a cool B-side to Bohemian Rhapsody, maybe even editing the vocal bit to make it a bit more accessible. Although, why would they edit the B-side and not the A-side?
