The middle part is a descent into madness. Or lucidity. Not all songs are meant to be 3 minutes with no point.

I like it. I don't consider it the best thing ever to have graced the universe, but I like it.

I rather like the whole of Prophet's Song and also Sweet Lady.

After YTMBA, The Prophet's Song is my favorite Queen track! Love that vocal thing... It's great to listen to it on full volume...

Moog, I always assumed it to be a vocal 'pitch' cue. After the ..."around, around, around.....ending on F." it seems the note 'Bb' (the key of that section) to help him start the next cycle.

I actually agree. I prefer the song without the vocal interlude in the middle. I have a downloaded version without it I downloaded from YouTube made by a fan called Prophets song 'fickle mix'. Try that if you'd prefer the song without the vocals in the middle.

I absolutely loved the middle vocal bit for years! I've got to admit that these days I don't get it so much. But when I do, it's still an "oh man!" thing.

The middle bit in "Prophet" is actually great, but I hate the similar part in Get Down Make Love

My thoughts exactly. I wish Montreal included Prophet instead GDML

Perhaps, a bit sloppy for it to be heard on the track though

I got the point of some of you, but I HAVE to disagree.
I grew up listening to that bit and showing it proudly to everyone around as proof of how wonderful and unpredictable Queen could be.
A song that starts calmly, gains rhythm, pace and groove and then rocks. Then it stops all of the sudden and warns us of The Prophecy with multiple multiplied anxious Mercury vocals. "Death all around.. ".
Then you have what could be a choir of angels, that also becomes anxious or nervous... So, the best of hard rock takes over. Bang!
Masterpiece, just like it is. Bohemian Rhapsody's not-so-pop bastard sister. Love it, I really do.
Cheers,
Ogre-
