The 'vocal' bit in the middle of The Prophets Song

I know a few people that became hooked on Queen to the next level because of The Prophet's Song, including me. The middle bit was part of that. Although if you're not in it fully going wow!, I agree that it can seem a bit forced or unnecessary.

It's definitely an overlong folly that irks on most listens.

Listening to this song when I first got ANATO painted a very vivid image about the old man, the nightmare, death, etc., one that I still remember 22 years later. Great song. Even at times when I say the middle part bores me, I very rarely skip it.

Bob, your comment about ANATO's B side being by far the most interesting, creative and unique side of music in the Queen catalog... In my case, I would extend it to all of ANATO if only Sweet Lady wasn't there :). I love every single song in there. From Death on two leg's intro to '39. Seaside Rendezvous is also classic Queen.

Ok ok, it's a hard rock song in 6/8 time signature... big whoop. It's still cheesy as hell.

If you actually listen to the lyrics, and know what the song is about, that middle piece makes perfect sense.

Now that's a thought!....lol!

My mother is 69, and my daughter is 9 - both of them name The Prophet's Song as their favourite Queen track; my work is done! :-)
