morgan fisher

Can anyone give more info about him. wiki gives a very little away about the fisher queen collaboration. I always wonderd how he ended up doing the 82 tour? And did he quit ?or was he replaced by spike coz the band wernt happy? And how come we never heard much about him again from the band? 

Reading about him on wiki he seems to keep bussy with his music career and hes obviously a talented musician but from what I can gather hes not had anything at all to do with queen since that 82 tour

Did they part on good terms?

Was he not afraid of flying, so they had to replace him for different tours?

Freddie made some quote about him in Milton Keynes - "I wonder if he's AC or DC" or somesuch. (Morgan was wearing a pink jumpsuit that day.) :-)

I believe that Freddie kept in touch with Morgan Fisher having met him in Queens early touring days. I seem to remember Fisher and Paul Prenter falling out, this may have led to MorGans departure, though I'm not sure.

He wasn't replaced by Spike Edney. The 1982 American tour features Fred Mandel on keys. He stayed with the band until the final 82 dates in Japan.

In 1984 when Queen were gearing up to tour again Fred Mandel was asked but other commitments stopped him returning. spike was known to one of Queen's roadies and so was invited to audition. The story goes that during his audition as songs came up Spike knew the intros and details of some songs that the band hadn't played for years so got the job.

Vocal harmony thank you yeh totaly forgot about ma del I guess coz his time with queen was short. Fisher falling out with prender makes scence prender was a turd! But they say things happen for a reason so fisher leaving eventually leading to spike joining well that was a fantastic way for things to turn out. If ever their was going to be a 5th member im glad it was him!

spot on mate. he cycled everywhere. he's just this minute arrived in Tokyo for the 1985 tour :-)

At last, this sounds like a good reason. Where'd you hear this? It'd certainly make sense. Mercury took everything Prenter said as gospel and probably tossed away anyone who didn't like him.

Never mind the old songs - they didn't know Radio Ga Ga either, and they just wrote it a few months earlier. I can only imagine how much those guys had to rehearse to play their own tunes.

^ the rehearsals for the works tour started in July 84` and somtimes a single session was twelve hours long.( "IF" my informations are correct)

I did an mail interview with Morgan Fisher about Queen, with the condition of did one about his solo career.
Resume:
He met Freddie in the beginning of Queen, the end of Smile...Morgan later did a band called Morgan with Tim Stuffell.
Later he met better the rest in the Mott The Hopple tour. He preffered bands like New York Dolls than Queen, because think Queen were too much perfeccionist.
He liked Freddie's live, but not played with Queen because it was all set list without improvisation.
The records of Morgan had simmilar things to Queen, so could be said it was one of the Queen's obscure influence with Sparks.
Morgan was in a religious era and had problems with that thing and Queen's vision...so, the rest is history.
And yes, Queen wanted Fred Mandel for The Works Tour, more if you know how much Fred did in The Works album,, but he couldn't wait and were on tour with Supertramp. He later collaborated in Living On My Own and other song I can't remember now...very charm person.
I'm also fan of Alice Cooper, so talk to him about Alice and Queen was magic.

I like Morgan a lot and I think that was a difficult tour to be involved with. He is also in one of my favourite shots of Queen:

Personally, I couldn't stand Fisher's playing as he overplayed on so much of it - Fred Mandela and Spike realised their roles and musically fitted in perfectly, playing the right parts for the songs.

To day we will rename him till Paul Pretender
