Bars, Clubs or Baths Freddie frequented

Given that Freddie was a frequent 'flyer' with a flamboyant life style, I would love to know what bars/clubs he frequented in cities he visited or lived in?

I would like this topic to be purely ethnographic in nature, a deep dive into times past when hedonism ran free. Ideally it should be documented by press releases, personal encounters, or Freddie's innuendos such as Marknow's photographic and video example ----- http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1387989/freddie-sings-and-warns-others-about-aids-video-.aspx?anchor=1388038 ------ in kdj2hot post, whom I must credit for giving the idea, thanks to the link he shared in the Star article.

We are off and running with the Mineshaft in NYC... what else?

The gay club HEAVEN according to Peter Frestone
and the gay (bit on the s/m - leather scene) bar/club The Mineshaft according to Trip Khalaf.

so basically you want to know where "apart from his own home and hotels on tour" -that Freddie participated in his "arse olympics"

nothing on this site surprises me anymore, disgusts maybe, surprises no.

perhaps it is just a spelunking expedition for you brENsKi. You are fully entitled to that.

On the deeper level, the Man and his music were affected by the environment he surrounded himeself with. My goal is to understand the world of the 1970s-80s and seek reflection in Queen art.

In the previously stated example, FM wore a Mineshaft t-shirt in DSMN music video in which he wore leather, a clear shift from the early days dress code of Queen. Mineshaft was a S&M club with a clear dress code policy, which encouraged leather or working man clothes: jeans and tshirt. As such, we can assume that FM got music and lyric ideas from the clubs he frequented. I would like to read about those clubs and seek reflection in Queen music.

I don't know any more than what you've already read in the first link you included, but I think I understand what you're asking and agree it is interesting, especially as the places in question have all gone. It was such a brief period in history, and I don't think there's a correlation between wanting to know about that period through Freddie Mercury's involvement (either for its own sake in a historical context or to feel you're getting more insight into Freddie Mercury as a performer), and having a lewd interest in details about what people did there. It's interesting that the clubs were there and when and why they closed, it's interesting that Freddie Mercury went to them; that they could have been so out of the general public's sphere and yet 'under their noses' via someone so much in the public eye, and I think it's a legitimate topic. I wish I had more to add.
If I wanted a fight, I would have phoned my mother-in-law.

A few of the places I've heard friends of Freddie's mention in interviews were...

The Works
The Mineshaft
The Crisco Disco
The Manhole
Heaven

Don't forget the Sweaty Fist in Purley. That required a secret knock to get in, and was only open from 2am to 6am every other Tuesday.
Also, the Nervous Gerbil in Newport was by invitation only, via a private Facebook page.

Errr.. or so I've been told...
"Queen is the only band in the world that can play so heavily that your nose bleeds, then offer a silk handkerchief to clean up with."
