Really? To The Netherlands, it was only about CA$ 6,50. Did you choose one of the premium shipping options?
The article says "FREE Shipping"... but the free shipping is only to Canada, right???

Yes, that's just for domestic shipping.

When I went ahead with the order the delivery cost to Ireland was €27 so to hell with that, no thanks. Price hike over night and that delivery charge is just too much.
I just ordered the Deluxe Box and 2LP, standard international delivery (to Ireland) was only CDN$ 9.47. There will probably be no import charges as such, but I'm expecting to pay the standard rate of VAT at some point - an extra 23% in my case.

That's the assumption I always make too - it's a pretty safe bet that way. But I've never had to pay import charges on anything from Amazon yet. Price-wise, this item is just in the grey area for import duties for my country - it all depends on the exchange rate at the moment of shipping and on whether or not they count the actual charge, charge + shipping or if they just make something up (that happened to me once with an effects pedal).

Did anyone notice that at amazon.ca the description states 'Live at the Rainbow '74 (Super Deluxe Box Set) [CD + DVD + Blu-ray + Book]', but the listing later on describes only 3 discs?

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00L22BHYI/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=15121&creative=390961&creativeASIN=B00L22BHYI&linkCode=as2&tag=superdeluxe01-20

Could it be that this Super Deluxe Box Set is different to the one described e.g. at queenonline (2 CDs, 1 DVD, 1 Blu-ray) and may contain only 1 CD and 1 DVD (plus book)? This could explain the low price...

Nope, that's just wrong. If you look at the listing, you can clearly see that the contents of "disc 3" are the bonus videos to the DVD/BluRay. So it's just a listing error. The image is clearly of the regular set, showing four discs. They're not going to make a light version simply for Amazon.ca.

Has anyone considered the fact that, going back a few years, Region 1 DVDs from Canada used to often come with bi-lingual (English + French) packaging? Does anyone know if they still do this, and what the likelyhood is of this box set coming with French plastered all over it?

It's unlikely that it'd be a region 1 to begin with, considering that QOL lists it as region 0, like all their other releases.

I missed the boat on the original price but ordered it earlier today and the total is about £44 to include shipping. So why are QOL allowed to price up at £100 and £115 when other sites are doing it far more cheaply? Even IF customs get their hands on the parcels, it'll still be cheaper by the looks of things. There's even ebay sellers doing it at £69. And there was me thinking that it would be much cheaper to order 'direct'. They don't want to make profits in this country, they just want to make a killing.
Have you switched it off and then on again?

Living in Canada and regularly buying CD's, blu ray or books from whichever amazon is cheaper I'm not actually surprised at this. I had it on order at amazon.com for $72 at first because it didn't show up on amazon.ca until a couple of weeks later but switched the order as soon as it showed up. $54 plus free shipping was far too good a deal.
I should warn anyone buying from .ca that you may wait a while before you get it though. I have found new import CDs and DVDs have a habit of being delayed by a couple of weeks. No guarantee that will happen with this but if it does there's not much point in complaining because they just don't get the stock at the same time as the uk or us. Remember even if it a us release it is an import to Canada

Will the Blu Ray be region free?
