SSOR on the radio. I loved the sound but didn't catch the DJ saying who the band was. Then a few months later Killer Queen, I went to buy the single but came away with The Sheer Heart Attack album and Queen 2!

Although I probably heard We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, and Bo Rhap as a kid (growing up in a household where Queen and rock music was basically what we listened to, and still is), the first song I really listened to and liked was, surprisingly, Bicycle Race. I think I was 7 or 8, because that was when Episode III of Star Wars came out, and hearing "I don't like Star Wars" shocked me. I then borrowed my sister's copy of Greatest Hits, and here we are today.

Madtheswine73 that probably was the case with me hearing we will rock you and we are the champions before even becoming a queen fan because those two songs are played alot more than some of the bands other hits

The Show Must Go On.
I was 12. It unlocked a hole new world in terms of feelings, aesthetics,view-point in life.
It literally changed me.
Then i realised a lot of songs i knew, like radio gaga, i want it all, we will rock you, we are the champions e.t.c. were by that same special band.
I bought GH2 later the same year.
I was stuck for life.(Now 34y.o.)

Ssor . I remember knocking about the streets in '74 and we were all savvy as to what great music was at the time and we knew this was something special .then 6 months or so later, killer queen, and I immediately thought there'd never been anything like this before, then now im here kept up the form.off I went I to town to get now im here and hope killer queen was still available (how unbelievable I didn't just buy SHA!),anyway,, I got home and eagerly commissioned the old radiogram and started to play my 2 new records, after a few spins I turned them over, played lily of the valley and then had my 'road to Damascus ' moment, I couldn't believe the exquisite sound of that song, it obliterated anything that had gone before, it was completely new ground musically. And so I set out to buy the 3 albums as soon as I got the funds, and.......the rest is history..
Great post this, and the replies.

I grew up listening to Queen as both my parents are huge fans. But the very first song that I remember made a big impression was We Will Rock You. I was just 5, and was fascinated by the stomping!

I Want To Break Free, it was featured on a T.V. Shell commercial in the 80's
noorie, for me it was Bo Rhap, I was 5 and mesmerised by Freddie, and then Roger (who I thought was some kind of witch.....I didn't have a label to attach to Freddie, had no idea what he was, hence my fascination). They were more intriguing than anything I got from fairy tales at the time.

Roger a witch? He looked more like a princess!!!! Now Freddie I could see as a witch of sorts...
