Jefffab, I get the impression that, although you appreciate Queen, you have only, thus far, dipped your toe in the water. You stand in an enviable position, in that you have a fantastic catalogue to discover, a veritable treasure trove to peruse.
I think you'll enjoy it. Welcome to QZ.

Sounds daft now, but I was a 5 yr old girl, that was a high pitched hag, not a princess, lol. Love Roger really.
Master marathon runner you are correct There is still so much for me to discover and learn about this great band I hope all of you would be able to help me along if i stumble on the way
Yep, thanks Jeffab1995 for a great thread topic. Interesting to see how most people were gripped by their first impressions.
SmokyQuartz your welcome I hope I made everyone remember the moment they heard queen because for me it was magic It seems it was for everyone else as well
The Show Must Go On when it was released as a single.
I was 8 and instant fan.
Liked the complete Innuendo album, copied GH1 + II on cassette tape. After that The Miracle and A Day At The Races.
Than Freddie dies...
Although I was only 8 i remember feeling sad about his dead. After that I collected all the LPs and listened to no other music than queen for about 5 years. A Night At The Opera was the first vinyl i've ever bought. I think I was 9 or so when I bought that LP.
.
I heard Radio Ga Ga over the radio and was attracted by the lyrics. When I had the chance to go to a record shop, I looked for a CD with this song and it was on the Live Magic album that I found the song. I bought it and listened to it very often but did not pursue the band due to a busy career. Many years later when I heard Freddie's The Great Pretender on the radio, I was hooked completely by his voice. Immediately after that, I went all out like an addict to buy the whole lot of Queen stuff, including documentaries about Queen.
Bo Rhap, on the second disc of Music Of The Millennium. Which in turn led to the infamous scene in Wayne's World (and loving the whole film in general), and then the Platinum Collection... the rest is history.
1981 or 1982 I kept listening to Flash Gordon on Dad's greatest hits and kept hearing the start of SSOR directly after. Eventually SSOR because my favourite (mix of Sci Fi and rocking like FG) and then gave the whole album a go. After that my brother got me a crackling tape copy of the debut album (50p!) and I couldn't believe it was the same band. then I got NOtW and the AKOM 7". then Live Magic when it came out. Good days!
My elder brother forced ;) me to listen to White Queen and March of the Black Queen over and over again, day after day. He liked the songs so much and "this fantastic new band called Queen". I wasn`t that impressed way back then, but now I like to listen to these songs. I became a fan when Killer Queen came out.
My first contact with Queen's music was in 1989,a local TV station was playing I Want it All videoclip, without giving any info on what it was showing,so I didn't knew what it was that thing I was listening...sure blew me away of course
Either those little stories are touching or i am heavily drunk at the moment, reading them.
Or it could be both Stelios!
^^^ But of course ! (with Freddie -Let me Entertain You, voice)
