And for the song "Victory" we might need to wait for the next Queen album release, coz Brian says there are only going to be two MJ tracks on Queen Forever!
He said - a couple. Not "two". But if it'll be "ballad album" then "State of shock" doesn't fit in any way. So probably "Victory" is slow song as "More to life than this".
Brian's a pretty precise kind of guy, so if he says a couple, I would be a bit surprised if we got all three songs on the album, but you never know I guess. But then again, maximising the use of MJ tracks does sort of make sense, especially now that Brian has intimated that there could be more Queen albums coming via the use of ProTools.
I take your point about the use of Victory rather than A State of Shock on a ballad album, I only thought if Victory hasn't been heard at all, then keeping it as the shot in the locker for further down the track might be what they were planning,

Indeed, and he also confirmed the Michael Jackson tracks.

Thanks for the link, Brian doesn't sound so thrilled with the Michael Jackson songs. I think this release will be disappointing from what we were expecting a few months ago, but its Good to hear eddie and Brian talk about queens influence on heavy music.

I think there's option 3 ;)
* More to life than this (2014 Queen version) - solo Fred vocals
* More to life than this (2014 Queen version) (ft. MJ) - the same or remixed.
And here we got... 2 MJ songs ;)
PS - to be honest I don't believe that MJ tracks will be included. They probably won't "make deal" with Jacksons and these tracks'll be skipped.

I don't care at all about the MJ tracks, ok it would be fun to listen to State of Shock in high audio quality but it is not something that add so much at the Queen discography. I thknk the MJ tracks should have been released in the FM collection since they're not "queen" tracks and it would have been one good more reaseon to buy the box set, since there are a lot of useless things on that release (like the "karaoke" cd with no vocals.....)
Honestly a 100% Queen album would sound a lot better to me.

Nice idea - it would be good to have a solely Queen version (ie just Fred's vocals), and also the version featuring MJ too.
I am interested to see if they use Freddie's final 'Mr Bad Guy' vocal, or if they mix it up by using some of the alternative versions found on the FM box set, or even some as yet unheard alternative vocal takes.

If they can use one or more MJ track on this album then they will definately. If we assume that the complicated legal work has been sorted out between QP, MJ's estate and presumably Universal/Island Records they would be mad to not include at least one track.
I'm speaking from a purely commercial view of course. Whether the tracks should be used on a 'Queen' album I'm not so sure but it has been done before, especially on Greatest Hits 3 where we had the dubious delights of Wyclef Jean to contend with as well as the Elton John live performance of TSMGO. Plus of course solo tracks.
A track/s with MJ would increase the promotional aspect and sales well above what they would have been otherwise IMO. Even taking away the sales of some Queen fans who are adamant that they won't buy something including MJ will mean little compared to how many extra purchases you'll get from MJ fans. Plus the potential for this release to be picked up more by 'Joe Public' who otherwise might not bother as they almost definately have Queen hits albums in their collections. If they see on the cover, 'For the first time ever, 2 of the biggest music acts together at last!', compulsive purchases will make a tidy profit.
Whether we get all the MJ material on this album, or if some is being saved for something later down the pipeline, or if the MJ estate themselves have rights to release some of it, only time will tell.
We should know a lot more by the end of September by the latest. Unless of course the release is put back for a letter date.

They're too lazy to using "alternative" vocals ;)
And BTW - what about MJ vocals? Those known from demo(s) are poor. MJ sings there so weak (?).
It sounds like one of very first (or simply first) take on that song.

I'm not so sure. It's potentialy 2 new tracks for them. And just one absolutly new.
You know. Some of them boycot "Michael" release. Some weren't happy with "Xscape".

Hi Shamar
Re Jacko's vocals on available demos being poor, I agree! But treating the vocal would not be I wouldn;t think. So the end product may well be quite acceptable!
I'm sure some Jacko fans did boycott Xscape! I mean sales of that album were not a patch on previous albums of his! But say a really good track that they haven't heared lauched as a single such as There' More to Life Than This mightget a lot of them back in I think.

Well, there was a good reason why 'Michael' was boycotted. Most fans thought (and still think) a handful of songs were sung by a soundalike. Basically fake. Most fans received Xscape well.
I think the Jackson fans would definitely buy the album and help boost the sales if it contained the duet songs.

Yep. :)
It might be. I don't know, is it just me, but that small part from "Days of our lives" documentary sounds better and different?

Yes, I know but (if it's true) they got 3 fake songs and 7 original MJ songs which sounds "close to originals".
On "Xscape" there're mostly very different "renewed" remixes (ways from demos)
Heavenite · Member since
Gee what a rort if those Jacko tracks really are fake! Can't rule it out I guess. They shoulda just put out a shorter album, or got Brian to do them a 30 minute hidden track at the end to creep all Jacko's fans out.....lol!
