I'm waiting on hearing the whole thing in situ - picking apart a sample of a few seconds is great journalism but in the context of the whole thing which hasn't been heard yet? Has anyone considered that this auto-tuning has been done in order to generate just this kind of response prior to the actual release? Not saying that we're not going to get a release saddled with artifacts like this all over it, but am preferring to wait until the proof is in the pudding.......

Yep. The fact that the samples have been taken down from iTunes makes me think that maybe they've realised that there are some things that need fine tuning in order to show the material in public.

if so the release date would be delayed...
Let's hope it's not.
There are 30 second previews available here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LVRZ9E8/ref=dm_ws_sp_ps_dp?ie=UTF8&qid=1407767847&sr=8-10
They're a bit different to the iTunes samples so we can hear a couple more lines from Fairy Feller.

Can somebody do a merge between the Amazon and the iTunes samples? That would be amazing.
But please, in different files, not like the iTunes sample who are all together in one file
Or at least, the enhanced version by Inu-Liger of TFFMS merged with the Amazon version.

The only autotune I can hear is the "plough" on ploughboy. The high C just isn't hit cleanly. Without hearing the original it's hard to be 100% sure, and if it was really necessary.
That said - when the BBC broadcast Hammersmith 75 in 2009, someone posted a file of White Queen with the original audio in one channel and the 2009 audio in the other, revealing little autotune tweaks of Freddie. I can't lie, that was extremely disappointing. I'd heard that version of White Queen for a decade and thought it sounded just fine. I wonder if Brian and Roger are even aware of this.. ?

Yes, that's the most obvious one.
I'm also interested in how involved they are. From what I've heard hey've been doing loads of overdubs and stuff for earlier concert releases, so I guess it isn't that big of a stretch for them to allow the sound engineers to do some auto tune.

Killer Queen is hugely overdubbed :(
We can only guess why the original release plan was shelved. We know the tracks were overdubbed for release and perhaps the effort involved to get it up to scratch was seen as too much (more than the anticipated fixing and mixing) as they were obviously a new band who's efforts were better spent getting a 'proper' 3rd album out. I expect to polish it up for release in 2014 they have felt it's fine to use 2014 methods such as autotune rather than using the overdubs. No problems here. Perhaps Live Killers wouldn't have so many edits if they had autotune in '79. That said, I also don't have any problem with the edits in Live Killers or Live Magic.
the delay ould be fine with me if they'd overhaul it. otherwise no buy. that's just too much autotune and flying in. it actually impacts my enjoyment.
What delay? It's delayed? :(
No it's not ! You can now download Killer Queen for free from the Queenonline website. It sounds "more" live than Box of tricks version.
Whatever it sounds, it is an incredibly song, most if we say that is the 1st time we hear it!!! Long live Queen!!!

How do you do that? What program and what effect do you use? I'm trying to de-fade in/out all the Amazon samples and the iTunes samples to merge it, but I can't de-fade in/out them. I'm using Adobe Audition.
