Maybe they could release some kind of boxset with "Southamerica Tour 1981"...

I’d like to see a box set of Hammersmith 75/79 seeing that were getting the Rainbow from 2 different tours.
That would be an awesome box set. Since we've pretty much seen what an official Hammy '75 looks like, adding Hammy '79 would make the release really special.

In my opinion the Rainbow release is the best Queen release since Made in Heaven, along with Wembley (25th anniversary edition) and Queen On Fire ones.
So the choiche about the future live releases is very limited. If I could choose thr show to release I'll go on the Houston 77 one for sure.
I think they will release all the 3 shows (Houston, Hammy 75 and Hyde Park) but the Big question is what they will release after these ones. Is there any unreleased film that they can release?
Since the Rainbow release almost all the periods are covered:
- Queen 1 / 2 / SHA: Rainbow
- ANATO/ADATR: ? Hammy 75 (future) or Hyde Park (future)
- NOTW/JAZZ: Hammy 79 (future) and Houston (future)
- the game: rock montreal + sud america
- hot space: queen on fire
- the works: Rio and Tokyo
- magic tour: wembley and budapest
Since the Works live shows are not definitively the best Queen live period they should choose something who is really unknown or unseen (like the Friday Wembley show), anyway it is thrilling. I wonder if they can play their Ace and release something we couldn't never and ever expect.

They already cleaned up the Earls Court 6-6-77 audio for the Stormtroopers in Stilettos exhibition in 2011. Let's hope they don't sit on it forever. This stuff needs to be heard.
A box set containing Earls Court + Houston would be amazing, like the Rainbow release.
But if QP makes some nice job don't expect another nice job then :-)
On the other side the music marketing is changing so anything is possbile. One big thing is that there are relatively a few shows only to release.

So far this is what they have:
Complete Queen shows recorded in video.
Queen I & II: None
Sheer Heart Attack: Rainbow '74 (November)
A Night At The Opera: Hammersmith '75 & Hyde Park '76
A Day At Races: Earl's Court '77
News of The World: Houston '77
Jazz: Paris '79 & Hammersmith '79
The Game: Montreal '81
Hot Space: Milton Keynes '82
The Works: Rock In Rio '85 & Tokyo '85
A Kind Of Magic: Wembley '86 & Budapest '86
Some south american shows from '81 were filmed aswell, but Rock Montreal outshine them.
Now the questions are, how many shows they recorded in audio with multitracks? and, want Queen Productions release a show ''only'' in CD?

1) The goal should be to offer a live document for every tour.
2) With the Rainbow release we now have beautiful live documents from the Queen II en SHA tours.
3) ANATO and ADATR: there is no video recorded ANATO tour concert. The well known Hammersmith 1975 video was a one off show and doesn't include all the songs played during the tour.
Hyde Park '76 includes some ANATO songs not played at Hammy '75 but also You take my breath away from ADATR.
So, what I think they should do, is release Hammy'75 and include a complete audio concert from that tour: problem is, we don't know whether they have a show from that tour professionaly recorded...
Or maybe - of they have no ANATO audio - bring out Hammy'75 and Hyde Park in one set as two "one offs'" :-)
4) ADATR - NOTW: they have the two wonderful Earls Court shows and also Houston during the NOTW: I think it is best to release a 1977 box with Earls Court, Houston and a documentary of the US NOTW tour... Rhys even mentioned the possibility to include "a few shows from that tour" so maybe there's more audio in the archives (it'd be awesome to also have pro audio of syw and it's late from NOTW 77). This set could be - when done well - be legendary aswell, just like Rainbow :-)
5) Jazz: lots of Live Killers concerts recorded so great potential and then there's also the Crazy Tour with Hammy'79 (which was also sort of a one off but they played an entire set!) and I'm silently hoping they have usable audio from one or more other Crazy tour shows.
Shows like Rotterdam 30/01/79, Frankfurt 02/02/79, Barcelona 20/02/79, the Paris ones (especially the 01/03/1979) are all awesome and then there are shows we haven't heard before :-) :-)
One is from satellite, the other is from TV. I'd say the former is slightly better quality.

Add Tokyo 4-25-79 and 11-3-82 to that list as well. The 4-24-79 film may be complete as well.

In addition to the filmed shows you mentioned, there are these, at least..
London 3-31-74 (about to be released)
Europe 1979 shows recorded for Live Killers
Knebworth 8-9-86

Didn't Greg say at some point that they don't have full multitracks for the Live Killers shows anymore, just parts and stereo mixdowns?

Why would they do this? Take 2 shows from 2 absolutely different tours? Makes no sense.

And one more point - we KNOW that they remastered (at least) Hammersmith Odeon 75, Hyde Park 76 and made a new HD scan of the Bob Harris footage, which includes Houston 77. QPL is a business company, their goal is to make profit. Why do you think they would spend money on restoring the shows? They want to make profit of them. It's only a matter of time.

I don't really think so. The tapes used for the 2011 documentary look WORSE than the recordings which we have now. The masters must be in very bad shape.

Well yes, but he wrote also that they don't have the Rainbow March audio and he was surprised to find out that we have actually some FOOTAGE of the March show.
If I remember correctly EMI returned them a huge amount of previously unseen/unheard material in late 2010

If they are releasing concerts in chronological order from their 40th anniversary, how come the early Tokyo concert was left out?
i would be happy to assume that this is a one off release. Disappointment is less bearable.
