I think a Houston '77 + what was recorded of Fort Worth and the U.S. tour by Bob Harris, would make a great release.

If they release that box set it would be the BEST live release ever. But I fear it will be a dream only.

And we should wait 2017 anyway.

Maybe a double release of earls court and Houston?

Those two wouldn't really go all too well together, two very different tours and setlists.
If Earls Court should ever be released it should be as a double box with both nights.

Just throwing that idea out

I think that the Earls Court and Houston gigs will both be released in 2017, with Houston having it's own box, as well as Earls Court, separately.

However, due to the fact that the general public won't know the difference between the two tours (since they're both in 1977), I wouldn't be surprised if they put them together in a box set.

I really do wish for Hyde Park to be released, though. I can see that being released in a similar format as Rainbow, add they were both historic gigs.
Any way the wind blows...

Are you saying that the two Rainbow tours aren't from different tours and with different setlist?

I think a Houston/Earls Court release would be great. Why would anyone that isn't a hardcore Queen fan want to see two nights with exactly the same arrangement anyway?

A box set containing Earls Court + Houston would be amazing, like the Rainbow release.

But if QP makes some nice job don't expect another nice job then :-)
On the other side the music marketing is changing so anything is possbile. One big thing is that there are relatively a few shows only to release.
Why would they do this? Take 2 shows from 2 absolutely different tours? Makes no sense.
But isn't that what the current Rainbow release is !??

Didn't Greg say at some point that they don't have full multitracks for the Live Killers shows anymore, just parts and stereo mixdowns?
No, definitely not.

In fact, they were put to use in 2011, as Sheer Heart Attack from Paris 79 was included as a bonus track on the NOTW remaster. I sincerely hope that isn't the last we'll hear from that.

Well but these setlists are pretty similar. The setlists in 1977 changed drastically, but in 1974 they basically added a few new songs

in my opinion the setlist difference could be a strengh point for a release including both the Earls Courth and the Houston show.

Let's imagine a double DVD/cd with BOTH Earls Courth nights: true fans would be happy about it but what about the other people? They would simply do not care about the 2nd night, while a Earls Court + Houston box set could be more interesting to buy, according to the normal customers.

Of course I would prefer 2 different releases, one for Earls Court (2 nights) and one for Houston (+ bonus material like other 77 USA shows and Harris documentary). The question is: are we sure that QP is gonna release 2 different box sets in 2017? They surprised me making the Rainbow double show but i fear they won't suprise me again

Let's not forget that QP released Montreal '81 along with Live Aid in ONE release :)

Interesting question regarding box sets with two nearly identical shows setlist-wise. Does anyone know how well the Wembley 25th anniversary edition sold in comparison to the Live At Wembley Stadium release?

Queen II tour - 13 songs, 3 dropped for SHA tour
SHA tour - 18 songs, 8 new (7 SHA songs and Black Queen)

vs.

ADATR tour - 24 songs, 7 songs dropped for NOTW tour
NOTW tour - 27 songs, 9 new (7 NOTW songs and IILWMC/LOML)

^ so ultimately I'd say the situation wasn't too different.

A 1977 box set with a compilation of 2 nights at Earls Court plus Houston and rehearsal/soundcheck/offstage/interview Bob Harris footage would be mind-blowingly awesome. We could then definitely say that 70s Queen would be well covered by official releases.

the 70s will be well covered just in case they release a Crazy Tour box set: they can make Hammermisth + Houston + Earls Court but the final goal is the Crazy Tour for me :D I just need the audio, I don't care about the video :D Let's not forget it was the best Queen tour ever in many aspects. I'd pay it the money I earn in 1 month, seriously, could you imagine a Box set with the Newcastle 79 soundboard? Amazing.

Anyway you're right, that Eearls Court + Houston + bonus would be awsome too.
