Eminently forgettable. Less posts and new threads (18 new threads) for this forum than the General (53 new threads) and Serious (19) since July 16. One would think that the excitement of a last tour would get people fired up but it seems that Rainbow and old projects are more exciting topics. Lots of new AL fans, I'd hazard the overwhelming majority of old Queen fans are underwhelmed. Of course the tour did good business so maybe I'm wrong. Love to see an exit poll of fans and who they were there to see, AL or
Queen? i'd suspect 50/50 , numbers were propped up by Lambert fans.

Wow, those Adam Lambert fans sure were LOUD if the Queen fans were sitting on their hands............at every venue, yet!

I feel so tired of this subject, from what i have seen of the latest shows Adam did a bloody good go of it it, i also thought Brian and Roger played well and looked happy. The stage show looked very modern and went very well with the music and it was nice to hear some older tunes.Fact Adam is no Freddie Mercury,no where near, but he is not trying to be.Fact its a damn sight better than the plodding Queen /Paul Rogers shows ,where no one looked very interested and it was more like a Bad Company show.So given the choice i would go and see this show and enjoy it ,i know a lot of you wont give it a chance and thats fine.

I second the last post, couldn't have said it better myself.......
I feel like I have said this about a thousand times before...........but....I guess I qualify as an old Queen fan (since 92!)..... I was skeptical of the whole Queen + Adam thing when I first heard of it, but I gave him a chance, and I've come to think he's quite a damn good singer.....and way better suited to do older Queen songs than Paul (though I did enjoy that collaboration....saw em back in 06)....I was the Detroit show last month and definitely loved it!
And if a large part of the audiences were Adam fans...........hey, I bet some of those became Queen fans! :D

Depends on what you like in a singer. Paul Rodgers is a rock legend with a great voice and great repertoire of his own. I enjoyed the way he sang and interpreted the Queen songs. Personally I loved the Free/Bad Co. songs he did during the Q+PR tours. Paul has a great stage presence too. Very charismatic.
Far more interesting than this musical/broadway type of singer who doesn't write his own songs and became runner up on a talent show. He may have a nice vocal range but he sounds like a squirrel to me. Horrible vibrato too. Fake/insecure stage presence.
Paul Rodgers > Adam Lambert. Anytime.

Uh............rock legends?
Seriously, I would definitely consider the singer of Free and Bad Co. and the owner of one of the best voices around a "rock legend"!
(quotes from wikipedia comin up....)
For a short time, Free were alongside Led Zeppelin as among the highest grossing British acts
Bad Company earned six platinum albums until Rodgers left in 1982
Rodgers has been cited as a significant influence on a number of notable rock singers, including David Coverdale, John Waite, Steve Overland, Lou Gramm, Jimi Jamison, Eric Martin, Steve Walsh, Joe Lynn Turner, Paul Young, Robin McAuley, Jimmy Barnes, Richie Kotzen and Joe Bonamassa. In 1991, John Mellencamp called Rodgers "the best rock singer ever."[6] Freddie Mercury, the original Queen vocalist, in particular liked Rodgers and his aggressive style.[5
Yeah, you wouldnt call that guy a legend......

I thought it was a great concert (Chicago - United Center).
And I thought A.L. did a great job (Brian and Roger were, of course, ridiculously good as expected).
So there.

Adam DOES write his own songs. Sounds like a squirrel, horrible vibrato, insecure stage presence? Were you there in person? Of course not because you wouldn't say those things if you were. People were blown away by this show and by Adam's vocal prowess! You need a new set of talking points because all of the old ones have been proven wrong by the thousands of people who enjoyed this 24-day tour!
Staging:
In Houston the giant Q leaned forward to an alarmingly low angle (part of the show?)
Best keep it tied in place! I like the giant Q effect and the smaller stage out front.
Brian and Roger:
Thank you for taking risks. I hope you felt a lot of U.S. appreciation and
welcome in every city coast to coast. We want you back already.
More cities: Miami, Atlanta, back to DC (Verizon Center this time)
Love of My Life sing along is one of my favorites.
Adam:
Visible & audible rise in audience reaction each time Adam returns to the stage. Could be more
animated at times and Interact more with the audience during bridges. The crown at
the end made me feel uncomfortable - this is too much of a signature piece of Freddie.
Love Kills:
Awesomeness. Please keep this song!
Material I'd like to hear:
Hammer to Fall, Innuendo, (a lot, lot, more but I won't be greedy)
Advice:
In American society address the audience much sooner. A simple
"Good Evening everyone!" goes a very long way in America.
The audience will be less tentative if you invite them in right off.
Intriguing Global possibilities:
Mexico, Brazil and Germany

To me Q+AL a few years ago was an experiment with lots of nice things and lots of bad things. But the current tour is a lot better:
Adam's stage presence feels more natural than the previous tour, in which I felt he saw himself more as a guest than part of the band, now, in the current tour it feels more like a band, Adam found a way to express his own personality in the songs and the way he is on stage feels more like a frontman and less like a hired gun, which was the feeling I had in the previous tour.
The only thing I really dont like, is when he spit champagne or whatever he's drinking, I find it disgusting and disrespectful, but it seems that it may be something in the culture of my country that makes me feel bad about it, cause I havent heard/read anybody complaining about it
