I went to my physio today & mentioned that I was going to see QAL in Melbourne at the end of the month to which he responded that he had been fortunate enough to see them at Wembley in '86..........lucky bugger!
Anyway, he said 2 things really stuck out for him at that gig. First was the massive lighting rig kicking into life with the entrance of the band & big surge forward in the crowd. The second thing was that someone managed to scale the PA system at side of stage & had security trying their best to get him down. However, it was Freddie who managed to coax him down & brought him on stage. It's been a while since I've seen the DVD but I don't ever recall seeing this as it was obviously edited out. Can anyone else confirm this happened?

That happened in Knebworth, not Wembley.
He was Status Quo roadie. Not quite sure it was Freddie that managed to get him down. Maybe he left on his own. Here are some photos of the episode. He was fired. http://www.queenlive.ca/queen/86-08-09.htm

Indeed and according to that site that happened during Status Quo gig so I doubt it was Freddie who got him down from there and I doubt that he was brought onto stage since Status Quo didn't know about whole incident until after their gig (and yes, he was fired!).
If that had happened in Wembley I'm sure there would be some mention somewhere, like there is for this Knebworth incident. After all, there was about 71,999 other people present at the time!
But of course I can't never be sure since I wasn't even born at the time :-)

Thanks for replies...................but my physio says definitely Wembley sat show. He wasn't at Knebworth. Anyone who was actually at Wembley able to confirm or not?

That didn't happen I went back watched both nights looked through information about wembley(fan stories etc) and it never happened there is no evidence to support his story.

So your physio is definitely a liar. Or has a messed up memory.
We already posted evidence that it happened on Knebworth during Status Quo set, just check the link again (that includes photo evidence) http://www.queenlive.ca/queen/86-08-09.htm but if you still want to believe him, that's up to you.

I remember the Quo incident at Knebworth: He upstaged them with a broom - on top of the video screen. :-)

Yes, thank you for your evidence of a different incident at a different concert. But I did ask for someone (who actually attended the Wembley show) to confirm or not the incident which my physio recounted to me. His memory may be playing tricks on him I don't know, but its a bit over the top to accuse him of being a liar unless you were actually at the gig. Can you confirm that you attended the Wembley gig??? If so, all good. If not then please don't bother replying. Thanks.

He probably has no malicious intent. But quite simply - years and/or drugs show their effects in various ways.
If all the stories told about rock concerts in the 70/80s were true, none of the rock stars would still be alive.
After a while you just learn to take most of them with a pinch of salt. If some guy insists Pink Floyd played Echoes at the show he saw in 1977, just smile and nod. They didn't, no matter how true he thinks it is !

I was at 'The Works' today and read a Kenny Everett bios... they again said he'd played Bo Rhap 14 times... and indeed, I just smiled and nodded. It's not true, no matter how many people keep spreading it.

definitely NOT wembley - i was at BOTH concerts (Wemb Sat & Knebworth) - and one thing i remember about wembley is that when queen came on stage there was still quite a bit of daylight. the lighting rig didn't come into it's own until a good way into the gig.
