It's just an Amazon Firestick with Mobdro installed and I thought that sky Arts was on it. :(

Don't know much about those, what about Kodi?

I tried installing Kodi but it just says "App Not Installed" when downloaded :/ Although I don't think you can record programs on them like you can on Sky.

True, I assumed from your earlier post that you had a sky or Virgin box :/

I have Sky Arts and a DVD recorder so I can record it in SD if that is any good? If you specifically require HD then unfortunately I cannot help as I don't have a HD subscription or a Blu-ray recorder.

SD is good enough if you can do it :)

OK Chief will do, I will use the best quality setting (which produces approximately 4GB for one hour).

That's great, one thing though. If possible use the scart output with RGB on your box to the scart input with RGB on your DVD recorder (if it has one).

SD is better than nothing, wish you luck! :)

Sorry Barry it is composite only, does RGB make much of a difference? Have you ever had the opportunity to do any visual comparison?
Unfortunately my TV, Sky Box and DVD recorder are all "turn of the century" stuff i.e. I got my Sky box in 2002 but flicking through the manual this morning it is dated 1999!
I guess that there is still time for someone else with better equipment to "step into the breach".

It's the audio that we are most interested in so the visuals don't really matter, but record it anyway and until someone records a HD version of it, it will be the best version we have :)

No worries, please still record it. You could also record audio direct from the box to a PC simultaneously if you have the leads. Again, don't worry if this isn't possible, but if it is it would be better quality audio than the DVD recording which will probably be ac3.

I do have the option to record to uncompressed LPCM on my DVD recorder (as opposed to Dolby Digital) though I am not sure if this will yield better results as I assume the audio will be broadcast in a compressed format? (Similar in concept to taking an MP3, converting it to wav and claiming it is lossless).
It is no problem for me to record LPCM so I will do that just in case there is a benefit.
