I think the record company just had everything that looked like 'Let me in your heart again' blocked.

Anita must be livid.....no credit for Queen releasing a cover of her track, and then having her promo video erased from history. Bet things are frosty in the May household at present....

Horrible version. And it's interesting the lyrics are changed to give a "happy ending" compared to the Queen version.

Not really its not her song. Brian wrote it in 1983 Queen recorded it in 1983 during the works sessions. She recorded it in 1986 so technically her version is a cover version

Both versions are woeful, the song sounds like it belongs in a cheap musical about middle aged life. No wonder Fred wanted it kept in the can, the cheese is literally oozing from my speakers. It is a prime example of the worst of Brian's "poor me" songs both lyrically and instrumentally.

Haha. I'm sorry Mark but I disagree.
Ever since I first heard the song back in '88 (?), I've loved it and always found it easy to imagine Freddie singing those lyrics above everything else on Anita's album.
I've dreamed of hearing Freddie singing them since then and I'm sure you can imagine how I felt when Greg told us at Convention in 2006 (?) that he'd found the Queen version.
Finally I've heard it and, after my initial dismay that it's more beefed up that Anita's version, I can't say I'm disappointed.

But what about a Freddie version of I dream of Christmas, will this a better, read a different version, or better version than Anita her version? I think that the Queen Let me in your heart again is version is much stronger than Anita her version. But I honestly think that Freddie's voice for I dream of Christmas is a no match.........

Promo video?? You sure you're not thinking of "Talking Of Love" there? Pretty sure ToL was the only video produces from that album.

I did see a video for Anita's version, but perhaps it was just a fan made 'DoRo' type compilation.

Hiya David.
You make some valid points, it is a shame that I maybe expected more or it might be the fact that Anita got it out first that turns me off it. I don't really get any joy from it but I can see it does make other people like you happy which can only be a good thing. :)
The new Queen version is certainly a better release but the first verse has a real Andrew Lloyd Webber on a bad writing day feeling about it which sets a negative tone for the rest of the song. Who knows it might grow on me after a bit of time.
