wow, now this is a classic standout track originally by bad company but queen covered it live with paul rodgers."feel like making love"..from "return of the champions" but the best track on that 2005 live set is the opening track with paul Rodgers all by himself, alone on stage before the rest of the band comes in...the song? "Reaching Out" which segues into "Tie Your Mother Down" anyone care to disagree/discuss?

I agree, the standout tracks are the Paul Rodgers ones, the Intro, 2xBad Company songs and 2xFree songs. That's not to say the rest of the concert isn't good because it's very good, he's an excellent singer but he's obviously going to sound best singing his own songs. Having said that, Queen+PR's version of Runaway (Del Shannon cover - bonus track on the iTunes version of The Cosmos Rocks) is excellent.
I remember playing a bit of Return of the Champions to some sceptical friends not long after it came out, as I pointed out to them at the time, if you walked in expecting Freddie Mercury, expect to walk out disappointed, if you are open minded, then you might get a surprise.

forget paul Rodgers, don't stop believing open arms separate ways precious time when you love a woman, this guy is not busy at all but made himself public not too long ago after a long and private scenario he knows best, I'm writing of none other than former journey front man and currently free soprano steve perry.
I'm busy but willing to read your artistic side, tha is ifya r creative writer, you do read? i did, but now an author critic at rollingstone.com earlier along with queen, steve perry, kiss and bruce springsteen twitter, facebook, alt.music.queen, alt.music.journey, rec.music.artists.kiss, rec.music.artists.springsteen via www.googlegroups.com acousticharmonies-subscribe@yahoogroups.com or www.yahoogroups.com for more info about public discussion into a broader range of topics? perhaps windows 7 tech support, audio and video conversion, lyricism, poetry overload raw unedited published have you any idea what is life beyond a piece of paper pen into social media? its' where it's at for me for now, no one seems to respect much more than hip hop and candy pop i suppose since mtv video music awards of this year & ascap music publishing co circa 2003? that's me and what I'm currently doing other than landscaping or real estate or photography or generally, surely there's something to do with perry and queen? any other bright ideas?
its a sure usa mass production on a Gillette stadium tour if and I think it's the only team that can really do Freddie mercury justice here in the united states.

I was an advocate before they got together that Paul Rodgers should front Queen, tremendous voice, great front man, and I personally loved the live shows, I know it didn't please the purists, but I liked the bluesy spin he gave the Queen songs, its good to hear them performed differently to the albums. PR gets my vote over AL.

I think the band was not so tight by the time they recorded Return of the Champions, as they were early into the tour. IMHO Super Live in Japan is their best live DVD, by far.

^^^^ yes Super Live in Japan is a much better gig then the earlier Return of The Champions gig. The time spent touring certainly showed.
I enjoyed the PR shows, after all they got BM and RT back out on the road together. But in don't think this shows had a Queen feel to them, Jamie Mosses' inclusion changed the musical dynamic to much IMO. BM is much more suited to being the only guitar player in Queen.
Paul Rodgers is a great singer, a lot bad been made of his blues input into the live Queen show, but I think it was at it's best and most obvious at the UK hall of Fame gig during Champions.
I think by the end of the Cosmos tour BM and RT were looking and sounding like a high profile Paul Rodgers backing band with PR having his own back stage area and being fairly non communicative with BM and RT. The added fact that Jeff Scott Soto was on call at a number of venues maybe shows how hard PR was to work with.
I think the happier environment, touring with Lambert is obvious.

it better than anything with lambert. its a real shame they fell out with pr. he didn't mince around trying to be Freddie in his leather period circa the game like lambert does.
