Is this the general opinion throughout the board that everyone prefers Queen from the 70's?
I thought they got 10x better in the 80's.[/QUOTE]

Indeed. Body Language is exactly 10 times better than Bohemian Rhapsody. Maybe we could even go up to 11 on that.

I don't really go out my way to listen to Bohemian Rhapsody. Hot Space did have Under Pressure and Las Palabras de Amor. Great tracks.

Music and overall stage production. Better show with a variation of genre's spread across 2 hours, Freddie sounded a lot better too, which is showcased on the Blu Ray's/DVD's that have been released compared to the 70's releases.

Not sure if serious, but the first 3 Queen albums are possibly my least favorite out of the discography. God bless Neil Lennon.

Opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one, but Queen's releases, for me, after A Night at the Opera all had better tracks than Bohemian Rhapsody. Didn't Freddie himself say that Somebody to Love was a better track overall? You had that, Spread Your Wings, Save Me, all songs that I felt outclassed Bohemian Rhapsody. Queen got better with every album, minus Hot Space.

Somebody to love is my fav Queen song, but the nation will of course choose Bohemian Rhapsody.
Freddie wrote some awesome songs in the 70s.

In the middle this thread is something referring to Freddie 'sounding better on 80's dvd and blu ray releases that's the 70's releases'. (Yes, releases, plural).

As far as I know, there's only been one 70's release on DVD/Blu ray (The Rainbow), and Freddie sounds fucking brilliant on that so I'm struggling to agree.

Yes, Montreal is a brilliant vocal performance just the right side of the 80's divide for that argument!), and Budapest is pretty good (but not a patch on Rainbow), but Wenbley and Rio and Japan '82 are all pretty poor.

The Queen VHS' releases throughout the years too. Each to there own man, I'm just not that keen on Freddie's takes on some of the stuff in the early days. It sounds to me as if he was still finding his voice, which latterly he did discover ways in which showcased his ability tremendously well. Wembley has a lot of energy, I know there is overdubs, but even then, I think the man put in a performance that holds up well against earlier performances. Queen's 20 minute set during Live Aid is applauded world wide, with many holding it as the greatest live performance of all time, can't really argue against it either. The studio work on The Miracle and Innuendo are in a different ball game too. Part of the reason why I hold him as the greatest ever, there aren't many singers who get better as the years go on, especially in a career spanning 20 years.

Yous lot aren't ardent (newly found word from my journalism stint)
None of yous lot know anything about Queen. I do cause everyone in my town knows I'm the biggest Q fan in the town and only true fan in the world. After all, my friend knows Wayne Sleep and I know that ITV voted Queen the best band in the 80's so yous lot can fuck off and anyone that has a valid, sensible and rational view can fuck off too and I'll resort to calling yous lot spiteful, childish names and yous lot with your 4 eyes and love for Madonna can kiss Lamberts arse couse he's shit and Freddie will be happy I am 'Sir Gezza of some tough Northern Lad town' and I'll add in some Freddie pseudo phrases and wording like 'darling' cause I read that in a comic so it has to be true.
Screw yous you bunch of many-eyed fucks.

Long live God Freddie!!
