Could someone explain to me two particularities of this song?
Why" In The Lap Of The Gods" with these "voices"?
Why this song has been "revisited"?

Which voices do you mean?

I love the performance of IN the lap of the Gods on Live at the Rainbow. Really don't understand why they recorded the studioversion with that delayed voice, it is a beautiful song.

Delayed voices of Freddie and Roger

What delayed voice? You mean the down-pitched voice right? I like that.

Yes, I mean the down-pitched voice.
I like it too, but why that choice? It's the only song with this particularity

"Revisited" because the second one is a completely different song with the same name. And I like both on SHA.

The vocal sounds awful. Why did they do it?

Yes," In The Lap Of The Gods" should have been a single.
Anyway, the whole album is a masterpiece.

I agree its always been my favourite Queen album, they found their identity on this one, after trying too hard to be led Zeppelin on the first two IMO, Queen have always been 2 bands for me, the heavy rock & the pop stuff and that's what we got for the first time on sha !

Live versions then. If you speed up the slowed down vocals on the album, it would be out of tune, obviously.
I think it makes the song more interesting actually. The track isn't very musically complex, but there's so much stuff going on, stereo panning and pitched voices and falsettos that it makes for an interesting listen anyway.

I dont think its hard to hear the clean vocals. It seems to my ear that Freddie sung while the tape was running slow, so you should just correct the pitch so you can hear the clean vocals.
Now, my favorite parts are Roger's screams and the guitar, it seems to me (at least that's what my ears "tell me") that the guitar was recorded backwards. I may be wrong, of course! But I find those little effects a very nice touch which I love.

I guess they were just trying to make this effort a little left of centre, to give it an unusual dynamic, all for the holistic impression of the album. Hell, the Beatles did it plenty.

I think the overall sound of Queen II is further from Led Zeppelin than something like Dragon Attack
