Good tune, mainly thanks to Freddie's knockout vocal performance. It would have been a great addition to The Works (which had like 9 songs anyway!!).

ili :yes "Let me in your heart again" would have surely been ideal for the "The Works" album, and i am sure it could have been swapped for the awful "man on the prowl, which Queen never ever performed live.
The new song L.M.I.Y.H.A is a special song and as you say
it is fantastic to hear the 4 guys on a new track, in particular freddie who i miss so much.

Fully agree with topic poster. Great tune, love it!
Im not on the moaning train, but too bad they ( Queen etc) seem to forget about tracks as this. Atleast we got this one and its a damn good song too!

The song is pretty bad, but I don't think it not being performed live is an indication of that. Queen never ever performed My Fairy King or You and I live either.

Tom: i love "You & i" and its a great shame it was not performed live, as it is a very under rated track, but has a blistering fab guitar solo from Brian and Freddies vocal on this track is pretty damn good! Great tune too.

It's a great song, but I think it has too many similarities with Hammer to Fall to have gone on the same album without raising a few eyebrows. In fact I would say they probably abandoned the track and recycled some of the ideas into Hammer to Fall.

Let Me In Your Heart Again is a good track! Not perfect but good. I believe it was also rejected back in 84 because it has some poor lyrics and has a backing track similar to Hammer To Fall. Brian has some great solos and guitar bits on it! And of course, Fred sings beautifully most of the song! Possibly another vocal take would end up better than this one.

You're right. The guitar solo sounds pretty similar to the one in 'Hammer to fall'.

yeah Brian has used the same guitar styles in "Hammer to Fall" & "Let me in your heart again".
i still think this track would have worked very well on "The Works" album.
"Man on the prowl" is the only weak track on that album.

errm...really?
Tear It Up - sucks and blows
I Want To Break Free - is pretty fucking lazy as songs go
Machines - very average
ISTWWC - below average
MOTP - as above
in fact of the four songs left:
GaGa - nice catchy pop tune, nothing special
IAHL - good solid tune
Hammer - again not bad...
KPTOW - best song on the LP
Says something when more than half the songs on an album are nothing more than filler, the production on EVERY song is crap and the best (IMO) on the album is a Joe Jackson ripoff
it's a fucking dire album.

Thats your opinion Brenski but many Queen fans love the works album and it was a success over europe back in 1984, Queen decided to pull out all the stops after Hot Space left a lot of fans deflated.
I love all of the songs except "Man on the prowl" which to me sounds like another elvis track after " Crazy little thing".
Queen swept up a lot of new fans with "The Works" and this album got them back on track. love it!

Gerry the point i'm trying to make is there's far too much wrong with the album.
it's certainly not a queen classic - and don't say "but it sold loads" - lots of shit sells
the simple fact of the matter is that of ALL of queen's discography The Works has aged the worst. the production, the synths and lazy song-writing all come together to form a cocktail of so diluted it's close to water.

I'm gonna have to disagree...The Works was not their best album, but certainly not their worst. It DOES have some filler, yes, and it does sound a bit dated, but to the bands credit, ALL of their past albums sound a fair bit dated. Doesn't mean it sucks. But I think for 1983/84, the sound was VERY relevant, and I'd say at least 2/3 of the album was pretty damn good!
