The legend lives on......just as he said he would !!!!!!!!

He is still very much alive today through his music - I don't think even he himself realised how famous he would still be.
I wonder if in 200 years time he will still be so widely remembered, like the great composers such as Bach, Wagner, Mozart etc. are remembered.

23 years already...It's seems like yesterday...
P.S.: So much for all the "fans" on the board; don't even have the respect to write a word or two on Freddie on the anniversary of his passing...pathetic.

Honestly, Freddie is a figure larger than life, so it is very hard to think of him not being around. He is like an elusive figure just around the corner. You know he is there even though you cannot see him.
I am not drunk, and I am not crazy (I think..)

Rest in peace Freddie. Thank you for all you did. You were truly a Lover of Life and Singer of Songs.

I think Queen and its members are more famous now (for their talent, rather than their excesses and non musical stuff) than in their prime.
While Freddie was (and will always be) someone larger than life, let's be honest: His current fame is in great part a work of Brian and Roger, who talk about him in the best way possible, always with huge respect to the point that they had been trying to minimize as much as possible Freddie's "dark side" long before his death until today, taking care about the way other people wish to use the Queen brand in order to have success etc etc
When people talk shit about Brian and Roger for having the wish to play the music THEY made and claiming that they are disrespectful to Freddie (and glorifying John for his retirement and not "turning Freddie's music into shit") I always remember that it was Brian and Roger the ones who gave interviews since Freddie's death, cleaning the shit people threw at him when he died, while John simply retired and never gave a shit about Freddie's last days or reputation after he died.
Both Brian and Roger may have taken wrong directions from time to time, but in the end their goal is the same: Celebrate Freddie's and Queen music and expose it to the masses so they all can live forever.

To me, the sad thing about Freddie's death is that he just could not enjoy the pleasure of being recognized for his amazing vocal skills, his showmanship and his musicianship, instead of being exposed in the media as a drug addict, irresponsible lover and gay star surrounded by morons and excesses.
