What I don't like about his version (other than that I simply don't like his voice) is how he actually seems to oversing it just for the sake of it. It's like "oh, you thought the original vocals were high, eh? Well look how high I can go".
Worse still is how he always seems to sticks to the minor pentatonic scale when he's doing those huge wails.

Thanks Greg...

Let's petition him to learn his modes and scat sing.
Thank goodness the wailing has been minimized lately compared to the 2012 shows.

You still complaining? Little fact for ya the tour was a success and most people here liked it. I respect your opinion but dont be a dick about it.

I love how this topic went from a Magic Tour question to Lambert.
"Freddie had recurring problems with nodules on his vocal cords, the price he paid for being a singer. That meant he toured with a small machine, a steam inhaler in which he firmly believed. He also sucked Strepsils throat lozenges all the time. On the first night of Wembley Freddie had some throat problems, but dismissed them as not drastic enough to stop the show. As always, I watched from all over Wembley on both nights."

It has an excerpt from Jim's book:
"Freddie had recurring problems with nodules on his vocal cords, the price he paid for being a singer.
Throat nodules don't only happen to singers, nor do they happen to every singer, nor do hard-working singers without nodules not pay some other price for what they do. What a sycophantically ignorant statement to make.
Yet another reason to not read this book... geez.

Yeah, I was like "nodules aren't a 'price' for being a singer." It just unfortunately ended up happening to Freddie early in his career due to excessive touring!

JEFFBIANO: i am not complaining about Lambert touring with Queen i am just stating what the truth is.
Idiots on here saying Lambert sang a certain song better than freddie is just bollocks.
People on here would be happy if a piece of shit was touring with Queen as lead singer, but hey guess what it already is lol .
I do not care what anyone says, Queen ARE paralysed
with out Freddie, as he was the most important member of Queen for showcasing image, glamour and performance.
Lambert clearly can not command an audience like Freddie could.

Gerry, your idea of "truth" is nothing more than your PERSONAL OPINION that you're trying to pass off falsely as "the truth." Get over yourself.

inu-liger: your personal opinions are just the same as mine, except i have more experience of been a Queen fan
41 years actually and i know when something is good or bollocks.

Still merely a subjective opinion.
