Well, also for your delight, I have been a fan for 42 years and I think AL is doing a fine job and also agree that he sings WWTLF better live than Fred ever did! It's plain facts so just accept it.
No, Adam Lambert does not sing it better than Freddie, & you are crazy if you think anyone can beat Freddie Mercury at his own profession!
Freddie sang that song at St James football ground at Newcastle and it was simply stunning.
Adam has a good karaoke voice but no real style about his vocals like Freddie used to have, plus he is hardly a showman now is he?

BEING as Ludwigs is a musician, as are others on here, and BEING as, like many of us, he is an old school fan maybe Gerry you should take note. there are certain things that Adam Lambert does as well or in the case of WWTLF better than Freddie in a live situation.

Further more, both Lambert and Paul Rodgers have BEEN more consistent in their delivery of songs then Freddie was, particularly in the 80's.

Gerry brian and roger have been in the business longer than you have been a "fan". They know a good singer when they hear one. Sure lambert does do some stupid shit (the couch bit for killer queen) but he has a great voice and does what is expected of him. And if the tour was "bad" how come fans who have been fans longer than you went and loved it? They sold out at EVERY gig and still had girls in Japan screaming as if it were 1975. You are clearly in a minority here gerry. And I know that when Brian and Roger are gone and this was their last tour you will regret not seeing them for the rest of your life

I think even a die hard Adam hater (such as you!) couldn't deny that Adam, on this past tour, has been more consistent vocally than Freddie was on the Magic Tour.......(of course, you'd probably just say he's consistently bad, so maybe that's not a good argument to make to you..........hmm)

I've got the Chicago, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary, Dallas, NY, and Detroit bootlegs from the 2014 tour...........and I almost forgot the Hammersmith Odeon show from 2012............and have listened to them all repeatedly..............he sounds just about the same every time!

And I am NOT trying to say Adam is better than Freddie, believe me............thats the last thing I would say..............just merely that he's more consistent live...........(due to Freddie's throat nodules, or whatever.........)...........personally, I think, like many here, I am sure, that Freddie's the best singer of all time!

I don't listen to bootlegs any more, I've found over the years that they just ruin the memory for me.
I went to the show, I had an amazing time, the band were awesome, then I hear a bootleg of the same show with all the bum notes standing out, (And lets be honest, Freddie hit a lot of bum notes live), and I think, wow, sounds like a different concert...
And that's because it is a completely different experience just listening compared to being there.
So I went to 3 shows on the magic tour, Brussels Forest National, Wembley (First night I think, I applied by mail for the one night that went on sale and got sent tickets for the added show) and Maine Road I never went to Knebworth because I was on holiday in Austria that week and have regretted it ever since it became obvious that was the last proper Queen show.
Anyhow, they were all good, I enjoyed them all even though the set list didn't change. Brussels was much more intimate, probably the smallest venue on the tour, Wembley was just huge, the stage was ridiculously large and had an electric atmosphere and Manchester seemed a little more subdued, maybe because I was further from the stage and there were no screens but was still enjoyable.
Couldn't tell you which was best, they were all good if you were there. Memories are generally about the day of the show, not specific instances in the shows. (Though there is always something in a show that makes it different. I do recall there being a tech issue with the synth for WWTLF in Manchester and It looked like they were going to drop the song at one point but they managed to get it fixed before Freddie got too bored waiting for Brian).

PS. Not sure why every topic has to end up being about Adam Lambert, but my tuppence is I think AL does a good job. I'm in my 50's, saw a lot of Queen shows and the recent tour was more like a proper Queen show than anything else they've done since the tribute concert. If you don't like Adams voice, fine, but he's matured a lot since the 2012 shows and he is comfortable doing rockers, ballads or camping it up like Elton and Liberace on Killer Queen. He's an excellent choice and while I have no interest in a solo album of his, if he sings again with Brian and Roger I am absolutely on board. I'm seriously considering visiting my family in Liverpool to coincide with the tour. Haven't been back to the UK since 2005, maybe now would be a good time.

jeffbiano: sorry but i will never regret attending this tour, for i have seen Queen in those glory days with freddie
and nothing will beat the thrill of that.
I know a lot of folk like Lambert, but he does not toss my salad and never will.
i was weaned on Mercury juice and that's the way its staying!
One thing you cant accuse me off is been a back stabber, i am a loyal Freddie fan
and i wont move on to the next singer who takes lead vocals in Queen, because after Freddie
there is no one in my mind good enough.
Yes i am in the minority but there again its only because i am a purist Queen fan.
If you accept Queen for who they are now then thats fine go and enjoy but for me the golden years have gone.

Sir Gezza of Queendom.... We ALL get that you loved Fred. Many of us here, too do! Most of us....read MOST....do accept that Bri and RT are continuing playing for a new league of Queen fans. Can you not just accept that times have changed and things progress.

Am I less of a Queen fan just because I CAN state that AL has improved and IS putting on a good show - works the crowd, great sonic ability and is a likeable frontman?

NO!!! I, as a lot, ceased to listen/follow Queen upon the demise of Fred but......I CAN see that Lambert IS doing a good job for the shows that they are now presenting!!

In a few years....do you really think anyone would care if you're such a stalwart for Freddie? You aren't going to get ANY praise, pats on the back or even a nod from Bri, Roger or Deacy!!!
Like the line from 'Don't Try Suicide'............

NOBODY GIVES A DAMN!!!

Just understand that life progresses and times change. That doesn't make us less of a Q fan!! For someone approaching 50....you are very immature!

^ stop trying to reason with him. I admire you for trying, but he has the cognitive thinking abilities of an eight year old. Your time would be much better spent watching paint dry.

Sorry for the bad spelling mistakes guys, i generally like to get everything on the comp in a mad rush and my fingers
do slip on certain keys!
Now to business regarding Freddie & Adam.
Firstly i am not an immature eight year old, i am just a very passionate Freddie supporter, and i understand Queen have moved on but not for the good i must point out.
With Mr. Lambert they will never make great albums like they did with Freddie.
I have also noticed on here that you are say you like Lambert but not one avatar of him appears on this site,
now is that total support for this reality clown - NO.
Everyone has pics of Queen or Freddie on there avatars
so there is the answer, Freddie is still king.
I am the only one on here who says it as it is.
I understand you all want to be kind and loyal to May & Taylor accepting what crap they present to you all, but i cant do this with Lambert its a joke.
I NOW do not follow Queen/Lambert because this coalition sucks! Queen 1971 - 1991 Forever!
