I'm not sure if this was already known, but this is confirmation anyway.
Also, as somebody pointed out in the facebook comments, the song title 'You & Me' at the bottom is likely a working title for Bijou.

Not sure if it was known, but still nice to have a confirmation either way :)

Cool. I knew that much of Innuendo was recorded or started in 1989, some of it I THINK grew out of the Miracle sessions.
Was it not meant to be released by 1990 but was postponed because it took longer to finish?

Yeah, it was intended as a Christmas 1990 release.

Why wasn't it released then? I know Freddie was ill, but I thought that the album was actually completed and ready to go. Did they want it to coincide with the 'official' 20th anniversary?

One can only assume the anniversary idea, but considering the amount of Innuendo out-takes there are, it might have been a pick-and-choose thing which took time. That, and maybe the band got back into the 'Innuendo' frame of mind in January '91 when Freddie's final sessions started.

Oh right so they could have still been editing it up to the last minute? I had assumed that it was actually ready for release and just had to be pressed by that time. Yeah it seems that there was almost a whole album's worth of unfinished songs from 89-90. Virtually all of them are unusable because of the fact that they were so unfinished, but also at that time they probably weren't thinking 'in 20 years there might be a demand for the out-takes'. They were probably thinking 'I hope we can get this finished and out on time'

What song was recorded last for Innuendo?

So, Innuendo was recorded in 1989 too? Wow...
A slightly offtopic question: Am I the only one who havent heard/found the song Africa by Night online? I remember it was very easy to find it and never listened and suddenly, when I wanted to hear it, it was impossible to find it lol

I have a feeling that the demos that were called 'Africa by night' were worked into All God's People.
Innuendo certainly has a 1989 version that someone posted on YouTube - most of the Innuendo sessions I THINK were in '89 and perhaps early '90 but I really don't know much more than that

In 1989 Freddie's health made a huge decline. It probably wasn't long until there were day-long or even week-long stretches where he wasn't able to work. Delays surely would have abound.
Tony Iommi is battling cancer. It took him ages to lay down his tracks for the latest Sabbath album. Similar story with Warren Zevon too.
It's amazing Mercury worked as much as he did in his condition. Not only the studio work, but the promo videos too. Most people in the final stages of illness don't accomplish much. Freddie came up with some of his best art since 1975.

I also see a song called 'You and Me' which runs from 18:20 to 22:21.
This must be the song that later turned into 'Bijou', which as the line from Freddie in the middle of the son: you and me ; we are destiny

Yes! Innuendo was a huge return to form for me. Sad it had to be made in such dire circumstances.

That's correct. Africa was for the Barcelona album but somehow it became AGP. Sadly I havent heard Africa.

I think it was Lost Opportunity, recorded AFTER the release of Innuendo back in January 1991.
