Greg Brooks mentions in the latest podcast that they are working on a box-set for 2015. After hearing the complete interview it seems certain that it will NOT be a Live Killers set nor an anniversary set (ie A Night at the Opera). So what else could it be ?

Probably all the singles on mini 7" replicas.....but in REVERSE release order, so starting with No One But You and working back to Keep Yourself Alive. It's what we all want isn't it??!!!

Joking aside, I'm so hoping maybe the Bob Harris US Tour documentary footage teamed up with the complete Houston gig.

Anything on the scale of Rainbow (which is what Greg Brookes has promised) will be epic. Hammersmith boxed set would be fantastic too. Earls Court too would be mind blowing in Rainbow quality. Why is it being kept secret tho?

Sounds realistic it will be the boxset

Hopefully a proper 40th retrospective of ANATO. The 40th was a joke.

Then they need to do a new and PROPER audio mix for the Tokyo show.
And do some proper video transfers of the Rio show(s).

Something few people seem to have picked up on... At the premier of the Rainbow, Greg did some Q&A session which he said something along the lines of... Neither Hammersmith, Hyde Park, Earls Court or Houston are suitable for a stand alone release, we might put them on some sort of live compilation box set. He then went on to mention the possibility/likelihood of a live killers box because of the wealth of material available.

We might just get that very nice sounding live set!

So annoying to hear them say this.... Hammersmith (75 & 79) Hyde Park, Earls Court AND Houston are all perfectly releasable, but they ONLY seem to consider something viable if it's in hi def and remixable master multitrack audio.

It's been said countless times about other bands releasing massively well received and sought after gigs from the 60s and 70s that Queen could do the same, but the 'perfectionist' angle is just taken a step too far when refusing to release these gigs.

I carry on thinking in a Hammersmith box set!! Also 7' would be an excellent release, but in vinyl, not in mini CDs!!!
That time will come, one day you'll see, when we can all be friends... ("The Miracle", Queen, 1989)

It's only suitable for release if it's in a state where they can autotune Freddie's vocal to death.

The Rainbow was a fantastic exception, but we ought not to get our hopes up with this stuff - there's a reason most of us are cynical about it.

Yep, the box set is most certainly coming in 2015. Or maybe 2016. Or perhaps 2017. Or possibly 2018. Or conceivably 2056. Or most probably never.
