Play The Game has its moments! A good note here and there! :D[/QUOTE]
I generally like the live versions of PTG......the Rock Montreal one, particularly, is excellent.......but then again, I always liked that song generally, even kinda like all the synths on the studio version :D Which brings to mind another point, but I'll just start another thread here..........;)

The versions from Phoenix 1980 and Oakland 1980 are amazing. The 1st Sao Paulo version also has a 1st class version!

Don't you mean 1983 ;)

Freddie nails the C5 in Bo Rhap during the Uruguay show.
Another great show is the New York show from 1976. While Boston's the most popular, New York's still excellent in its own right!

Urk '83, for sure, followed by that show where Freddie mumbles his way through BoRhap's verse after forgetting the lyrics.

The best Queen shows I've been to. . .
Wembley 78
Brighton 79
1982 a short run of Hot Space shows in Europe which I witnessed from a privileged position.
Wembley 84
Newcastle 2015 ( yes seriously)
Although they were good shows I don't think the Magic tour was really any better than what had come before. Likewise 1980 UK Europe although the shows were brilliant, they were no better than 79
Newcastle 2015 best post Freddie atmosphere and a singer that seems settled as the vocalist rather than someone fronting the band saying look at me

:) yup I was / am!
No Newcastle wasn't better than 1980, but IMO, it's the best Queen+ show I've seen, so that's why it's on the list.

Got any story from Brighton 1979? Did they do Brighton Rock? It's the only one of the shows mentioned that I haven't heard a bootleg from, I think.

i think that Body Language may be one of the most cringeworthy on stage moments in their career, although the song itself doesn't help.
YOUR BODAYY!
SEXXXXXXXAAY!
Imagine this song at Wembley 1984
or better, imagine Lap of The Gods (and Revisited) in 1984

Fun fact: When Freddie sings "Body" that way that sounds like "BODEEEHHHHH", it sounds like "BODE", and bode means Goat in Brazil. LOL. I always think of Freddie singing "GIVE ME YOUR BODE (GOAT)", it's hilarious.

Brighton was the loudest gig I've ever been too. John Harris returned as FOH sound guy for that tour. He was more of a volume freak than Trip. I remember a review in International Musician of the Clair Brothers PA used on that tour, it said in Bristol during Love Of My Life BM's solo was hitting 110 Db.
The Brighton show was full of energy and they were really tight and focussed. I remember the opening Jail House Rock being very faced paced, Liar was blisteringly loud and powerful ( best version I've ever heard) and yes they played Brighton Rock which Freddie made a point saying wasn't really in the set any more but "you fuckers would let us out of here if we didn't play this" He also said that he wanted all the boozers and piss heads Brighton is famous for to use their lungs and sing this, as an intro to Spread Your Wings.
To this day I think that gig would have made a great live album

Love tidbits like this. Great stuff.
When did Harris leave again for Trip to take over? Anyone know why?
