Ghostwithasmile is BACK! wrote:Remember them re-selling the bootlegs at the top100 bootleg project? Those were direct rips of those bootlegs
Which was notably controversial for the fact some of the bootlegs used lossy sources, thus they were selling transcoded quality product.
At least this marked the first and only time to date that "Hangman" (among a few other live rarities) was officially released by QPL in some form :-)

So .... selling bootlegs is fine now?
If you read the owner of the tape's explanation and proceed not to use binary thinking - then perhaps yes.
Oh I see. It's all clear now lol!
Incidentally, is he the owner of the content of the tape? Does he own the copyright? Is he licensed to sell it by Queen productions?
Considering he said he's giving a copy of the tape to Brian, maybe you should ask to clarify such details before making yourself look like a fool.
Wow it doesn't take much for you to start firing the insults off. So what did I do to deserve your wrath this time your lordship?
Yes, that did seem a little snappy didn't it? Come on Bob.. Your one of the good guys here.. Holly made a valid point.

Freddie hits G3 in Killer Queen (CARRY ON cigarettes), and he hits A#3 (slightly cracking) in RECOMMENDED at the price, finishing with a weird wanna try, but ending in the studio note.
And also Roger hits D#4 in the beggining (I WANT YOOOu)
And yes, there's a bass solo, provided by Mr. Wizard (weird, no? Giving that he's a guitar man).
I know Gregsynth like this things. ;)
If you want more, just tell me.

BW's "wait 'til next year" after I bootleg 50 LPs" is a smoke screen. He will not share Sheffield. Full stop. He will however blacklist and attempt to humiliate anyone who shares "HIS" masterpiece. That is the Fanthology mode of operation: Promise to share, but never deliver. I love the hypocracy of Fanthology and their ilk. Whine if a "Mexican" won't share, but call out the cavalry if someone shares something forbidden by Fanthology.

Well, you did question the trader's right to profit from something he had no part in writing, performing, or even recording... On QZ that's one of the worst offences. :/

Of course he's telling the truth. Sort of.
Step one: He makes as many "exclusive trades" as possible, to profit as much as possible in the trading circles.
Step two: He sells the limited LP pressing of the show, and gets money out of it ($20 x 50 pcs is a thousand $'s, but bootleggers always press more copies than they claim).
Step three: Simultaneously with the LP pressing starts the regular trading of the show. The money's already in the bank, so it doesn't matter when the show starts the spread out to the "wrong people" and you also get poorer trades.
Step four: The show is posted on QZ for free download (when it doesn't any have any potential for making money or trades), and the uploader is portrayed as a hero who selflessly published a rare bootleg recording, and didn't gain anything from it.

Online record-pressing quotes for a batch of 300 vinyls are at $1200, or $4 per disc.
When a bootlegger says he's making it "at cost" means that with the official run of 50 copies he's getting back the $1200 (at $25 each), and the other 250 copies are sold at profit.
As long as you don't number the editions in any way (or sell each series from a different outlet and claim the others are ripoffs!), nobody will ever know whether you're selling 50 copies or 500 copies of the same product.

I think many people forget that there is such a thing as a pirate copy. All music sellers suffer the same woes - one copy is sold and many copies are made and shared free of charge.

Sorry double post.
When I press post message, the screen shows page not found. So I press back arrow to get back to the post reply page and press post message again. Result : double post.

^ It says "page not found" because this thread is called "no subject". I mean, it doesn't have a proper name. But it gets published, as usual.

the simple solution is not to backspace. Just let the page say "not found" and carry on as usual.
Hope others realise this before I think I'm seeing double ;)

Caviar and cigarettes is the line :)
That's cool - as far as we knew, the 19th or 20th was the only time he did the weird note choices on 'Wanna try'. I guess he was doing it frequently at that specific point (late 1974).
You sure about Roger hitting a D# (E flat)? That would be out of key, his correct note is a D.
And what do you mean by a bass solo?

Cigarettes in one's carry-on luggage, I guess?

Keep in mind that BETA215 is using C3 as Middle C - it confused me at first, but he is right though!
