The most shocking allegations about Scientology explored in documentary 'Going Clear'

Sea Org members were allegedly tortured to the sounds of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" In 2004, Miscaviage apparently ordered the top members of the Sea Org to live in what was known as The Hole in the Chuch's secret Gold Base in California. In the film, former members say they were told to confess their crimes against the Church in order to leave The Hole. Beyond beatings and one man being ordered to "mop up the bathroom floor with his tongue," another method of abuse was when members were forced to play musical chairs to "Bohemian Rhapsody." Those participating were "fighting to stay" in the Church: whoever didn't have a seat when the music stopped was expelled from the Church.

It's not just a cult, it's a criminal organization and should be recognized as such. Americans need to get over their religious sensitivity and deal with the cold, hard facts here. Germany did the right thing by banning them.

As for them using Boh Rhap - it could've been any song. Just repeat any song long enough and it will become torture. And I mean that very seriously.

Exactly.

Scientology looks very silly, but it is no more or less silly than any other 'religion' when you think about it... let them get on with it...

Funny. I always thought the operatic part of the song was an aural reenactment of a family argument (culture, religion, child coming of age - I.e. kinda torturous)

I hear ya about ANY song repeated over and over. It is a form of deprivation and torture.

I've always wanted to play "What's new pussycat?" Over and over on a jukebox. Maybe 4 times at first, followed by "She's a Lady" then right BACK to "What's new pussycat? "

go try it somewhere and see if people don't get disturbed.

At the second time people are annoyed
The third time, people realize something is wrong and get very agitated, one or two people audibly yell curses
The FOURTH time someone consults the owner "what the fuck is going on here? !"

Then when the DIFFERENT Tom Jones song comes up, people get mild relief that it COULD HAVE BEEN a mistake!

But when that FIFTH one chimes in, I can GUARANTEE you something gets broken.

Oh and btw. I've known people who've either been in scientology or worked it's peripherals. They've seen all kinds of crazy cultish shit. Including children mopping several floors of halls with tiny brushes.

I'll have to check the doc out. I know it's all a subjective form of conditioning like most creepy cults do to reduce resistance

George Michael - Amazing on repeat for an 8 hour day.

I lived it for a week. Maybe not on repeat, but someone kept a local radio station on all day with that fucking song playing once every half hour. I'm not exaggerating. Heard it 16 times a day, 5 days straight. White collar torture.

Not true. I am very well versed in the cult and it's policies such as disconnection and fair game are evil and malicious. The movie mentioned in this thread is a great documentary and I would recommend it.

BoRhap is a nice long song to get the anxiety up during. That's why. :-)

There's been some times when someone where I'm working has the radio on one of those r&b/hip-hop stations......fine for the first few hours or so, but then a new DJ comes on and plays the same damn songs!

Also, I remember back in 1992, one Detroit radio station was in the process of changing formats....I think it was about a week or so, they played 'Friends In Low Places' over and over and over.....followed by another week or so of novelty songs (which was kinda entertaining)
I'll take you to the Seven Seas of Rhye
