Muse's new album is brilliant. Didn't care much for their older stuff though.
Black Holes And Revelations is their best work, IMO. Everyone has their creative peak, and I'd say this was theirs.
But their last two records have been excellent as well.
As for other bands influenced by Queen - everyone should check out Jellyfish. They only managed to put out two records, but most people didn't hear them. They were making Beatles/Queen/Beach Boys influenced music during the grunge era - the timing couldn't have been worse.

They're a musician's wet dream - still very much talked about to this day. They were incredible writers, players and performers.

Mika, perhaps, maybe not with his musical style, but more in form of his singing capacity?

This! I LOVED these guys. Both albums are superb. Some of their rarities hold up as well!

Guns N' Roses.
I did the other day an interview in person with Slash, and confirmed.
About the new realeases, I can't talk, sorry.

Foxy Shazam, especially their Church Of Rock & Roll album, produced by Justin Hawkins
Muse are a great band, btw. To call them a fifth rate tribute band is laughable and does nothing for someone's credibility

Well, Muse did a plagiarism of Don't you forget about me chorus on a song from their new album, so...my two cents.

Just listen Defector from the last Muse album. It has some vocal harmonies and guitar solos very Queen alike. Muse is a really great band.
Defector is a great track. My favourite on the Album. Your bang on there. It's a very Queen-Esque song.

I have to agree mate. Although I didn't like their first couple of albums, Black Holes has a couple of good songs on it.

I don't like Muse, I'm allowed to not like them. And for that it just goes to show how little I know about anything? Are you on glue?
You don't have to like them - I'm not crazy about them myself. But that's not what you said - you said they "aren't even a fifth rate tribute band IMHO", which is not a statement on taste, but a wholesale dismissal of their quality.
If you can't tell the difference between saying "I don't like them" and "they aren't even a fifth rate tribute band" you need to go back to elementary school and take some reading lessons.
And what a surprise, mooghead hurls some more abuse! I'm not on glue, but I'm beginning to suspect you've spend the last few years doing crack, because you've turned into one fucked up pile of ex-human being.

This morning i was just noticing that "Bat Out Of Hell" by Meat Loaf has a quite strong Queen-feel to it...especially the instrumental parts, which I found to be kinda Liar-esque.
(The vocals not so much, Freddie would have made the single parts shorter and less repetitive)
I'd love to hear your opinion about this because I've been thinking about it for a while.
Much better on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/0VafPclbphrwh36WraHWws
PS: Is there any section here for presentations? Or can I just start posting around? :D

I hate meatloaf. Both kinds. Horrible musical *(theater) kind of crap. Pretty disgusting. Revolting. Nevermind the questionable origin of the meat.
Music for old ladies and old men trying to lay said old ladies.Horrible. Absolutely horrible.
Egh meatloaf.
Anyways not a huge MUSE fan but beyond the George Michael/ Queen similarities in MADNESS it actually soundedinfirst listen close to ROGER'S "KILLING TIME" and the obvious....IWTBF
Ya gotta notice that they were going for a SABBATH sound early on with Son and Daughter.
Geez. The 70's. One of the last truly original decades.
Right now it's warbling the controls and electronic noise crap (*I'm writing an intendedly humorous book about that) and retro mashup style new recordings for old people to generate new permissions.
Fucking lawyer scum. I hope there's a hell for those people. Joke thieves and song thieves alike

^ Renaissance era style choral music from a rock band. This is even over the heads of much of their fanbase, from what I've been reading.
As far as I'm concerned, the title track of Drones is the best and most original thing to happen in popular music in decades. Polyphonic music hasn't sold millions since it was heard on Yes albums.
Just let morons be morons. It's not worth your time or energy.
