I hate meatloaf. Both kinds. Horrible musical *(theater) kind of crap. Pretty disgusting. Revolting. Nevermind the questionable origin of the meat.

Music for old ladies and old men trying to lay said old ladies.Horrible. Absolutely horrible.

Egh meatloaf.

I didn't say i like it, haha.
Just some kind of similarity in some instrumental parts, that's pretty much it. And similar ambition to some Queen songs (Wikipedia: "Jim Steinman wanted to write the "most extreme crash song of all time."" ) but on a completely different quality level :P

And I'll have to admit, Muse have been doing quite nice things lately.

Not so much sounding like.... The Riff on Josephine by Van Halen. Did they really think that by slowing it down no one would notice.

Extreme - Three Sides to Every Story.

If anyone hasn't heard it before, check out the last three tracks on the album: Everything Under The Sun: Rise 'N Shine / Am I Ever Gonna Change / Who Cares? (linked below). They're very good.

If you don't wish to listen to all of them, skip to the last track - which starts at around 13:21 - and listen to that, particularly the guitar solo, which kicks in @ around 18:00 - very Brian May sounding.

You could add Unchained and Dance the Night Away, as they both use the same chords.

Just listened now for the very first time. What is the riff? I've listened but haven't heard anything. (ps - I'm not thick but I'm at a loss. Maybe a cue might aid me?)

Listen to the riff at the very start of the song, and stop it after about 4 seconds.....lol

Oops A not E. That's what happens when an iPad decides to spell things for you!

It's probably more noticeable on the outro. I should have said intro and outro rather than main riff.

Erm, I was being sarcastic Matt.

Ah gotcha. It's hard to tell sometimes. Particularly if nobody bothered to listen to it.

Then in future times (YES) someone would invariably quote it as a song copying SEASIDE RENDEZVOUS.

Then it would be featured in a QOL biography.

Off topic.
Why in english you say eRm? Do you actually vocalise the "r".
In Greece we say "eee..." or "em..." is similar situations.
Just curious.
Thanx in advance.

It's used often to suggest a pause whilst thinking, or as an awkward conversation filler. Usually people say 'er' too but 'erm' is a variant of it.(often sounded as 'um')
