You're not saying black?

Ok.There is a general over reverence of other "classic" bands on the forum as though every other band has constant gold level output.

But thanks for keeping me straight on what I think just in case I get confused, appreciate that.

candy floss is fun - but you wouldn't want lots of it
If half of Innuendo was full of songs entitled 'Delilah', 'Tiffany', 'Miko' and 'Oscar', that comment would make sense.

you're entitled to your opinion. my own is that by the time Innuendo came around, queen had already done "silly" more than enough - hence my "candy floss" comment.
Leroy Brown, Lazing..., Seaside Rendezvous, GOFLB, Sidewalk, Bicycle Race, Dreamer's Ball, Dont Try Suicide, Cool cat. - there'd been plenty

One other thing - in Freddie's situation - the band weren't "being kind" it was incredibly patronizing. think about it - you write hit after hit after classic then you rock up with this pile of sh*te...and your band mates' response "he's dying, let's let this one slide"

I find these pretty great to be honest. Been listening to them quite often. They are silly but I think in a musical sense they're miles above Delilah. What I like about Delilah are Freddie's vocals (he's great in pretty much ALL songs) and Brian's guitar.

i didn't say they weren't. i said they're silly - but that doesn't exclude the possibility of them also being good songs. point being that Delilah is silly and not good.
it's only on the album out of some misplaced loyalty. it's the band in the recording studio version of pity. shameful sentimental clap-trap.

and i know i'm going to get flamed over this but consider this:

If you were introducing a friend to Queen and you had to choose a dozen tracks to "sell Queen to them" only the criminally insane would pick Delilah.
i'd get (at least) 100 songs down the list and it still wouldn't warrant a mention

Delilah is a fine song. Musically, at the most fundamental level, it's quite pleasant, with some very nice melodies. The synth sound perhaps makes it less appealing. With a different set of lyrics, and no vocal 'meows', I'm sure it would be much better regarded.

I also think the band were totally right to include it considering the circumstances. I can't imagine how hard it would be to say to an enthusiastic, upbeat, excited Mercury who never thought he would be alive to make this final album, that a song that he's so happy about and has given him the strength to be able to sing today...is shit and is in no way going to be on the album. If the song was written for The Works or Magic...maybe the rest of them would have said 'nah, not sure about that...probably one for your solo album'. But considering the context of the situation...very hard for them to say no i feel.
This made me quite emotional. You nailed it, I feel.

I could make a list but it depends on the person i am introducing, If it's a hipster, like somebody in my class then:
