I made a little progress whilst messing around with the mkv. It might be useful for those who want to play this on a stand alone blu-ray player and TV. I used format factory to de-interlace the mkv with a video bitrate of 9000 I then used tsMuxerGUI to create a blu-ray folder with the newly created 1080p (3.61GB) mkv (tsMuxerGUI doeswork properly if you try to use the original ''interlaced'' MKV file)I then burnt the two resulting BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders to a DVD5 using nero UDF mode. The disc plays nicely on my blu-ray player with chapters every 5 minutes. It also navigates << and >> up to 100X without errors.
